He is so big you couldn’t see the forest player behind him keeping him onside.

Mostly agree with this. I’m not convinced it was an entirely fair result but we’ve had a few go against us so I’ll definitely take it.

I’d add that our defence was magnificent today. Really very, very good. I’d say that was true in all aspects but particularly with respect to set pieces. Whatever we have been doing differently, since the change in our coaching staff, has been working.

On the other hand, Ekitike was ineffective and looks gassed. We could really do with Isak back to take some minutes.

You bang on about how poor Macallister is all the time Dan, it's ****ing tedious. Yes we get it now. Scored the winner today so he's made you look like a right cunt.

                  He was terrible like

The Liverpool Echo gave Mac Allister 6 out of 10 in their Player Ratings and observed: ‘Bypassed continually in midfield and regularly played the ball to anyone or anything but a team-mate.

‘Slow in thought and action, and glanced one header well wide second half before having goal chalked off controversially and then another allowed during astonishing injury-time period.’

Liverpool.com gave the midfielder 5 out of 10 and noted: ‘Another off-colour performance from the World Cup-winning midfielder.

‘Mac Allister was too often outmuscled and struggled to keep the ball.

‘But few will remember that after his late heroics in Nottingham.’

Rousing The Kop rated Mac Allister’s 6 out of 10 and wrote: ‘Same verdict as Gravenberch.

‘Mac Allister repeatedly gave away possession and offered little going forward.

‘Was unlucky to have a winner ruled out, but got his redemption with almost the last kick of the game. Got to praise him for that.’

The Daily Star felt that Mac Allister deserved to get just 5 out of 10 and argued: ‘Regularly outmuscled in his battles and too effortlessly bypassed by Forest midfielders.

‘Insufficient quality on the ball as well. Yet emerged with Liverpool’s winner at the death moments after being thwarted.’

Macca was utter dog**** all game, competing with Salah for worst player on the pitch.
He also scored the only goal, giving us the three points. Those two things can both be true at the same time.

One thing I have to say though, is with Macca, Salah and Gakpo in this form, it’s like we are playing every game a couple of men down. Curtis had a poor game today but those three have stunk the place out most of this season. I hope they shake off whatever is holding them back PDQ as we need to go on a proper run now.

You got to feel for Jones being dropped after his performance last week filling in at RB. It must be frustrating seeing others underperforming and getting picked no matter what.

Today also showed how good Wirtz is and how important he’s become for the team linking everything together and bringing others into the game.

Jones was lucky to come out for the second half in my opinion.

I like him. I think he is a decent squad option and probably deserves to play more this season because MacAllister has been poor. In my opinion it has to be a meritocracy when it is a big club. So Jones has the right to be a bit disappointed with his minutes. Because MacAllister has been poor. But having said that, Jones hasnt exactly made it rain for lfc in any game this season either.

Slots starting line up wasn't correct today in my opinion. The fact that he started Dom at right back suggests he thought that forest would have sat back and he would have had more space. But his subs were good. Robbo and Gomez both played well when they came on and so did Rio obviously. I don't think we can see Salah and Gakpo both start as our wide players in the same line up.

100%. I have been saying exactly this for months now. We might be able to get away with playing one but both just doesn’t work. For the time being I’d like to see us play more games with Wirtz starting left and drifting in but that is just a stopgap until we address the wide areas in the summer. A couple of big signings needed and we must get them right.

Our record over the past ten games in all comps is looking decent.

Seven wins, one draw and two losses. Nice enough run going on there and maybe a bit under the radar.

The sort of run that possibly breeds a bit of confidence and sees us pushing for something, anything, late in games with a bit more belief rather than accepting results as they are in the moment.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
