Galatasaray home Wednesday 18th March at 8pm

No away fans allowed for this one so hopefully a full Anfield can get us a solid win. No doubt Salah will come back in for this one & possibly Frimpong back in defense & Kerkez on the left. Ibou will also be back I’d suggest so I’d have Dom & Ryan holding with Wirtz in front of them. If Ekitike starts I hope Rio is on the left & Gakpo on the bench.

    Ali
    Frimpong
    Konate
    Virg
    Kerkez
    Ryan
    Dom
    Wirtz
    Salah
    Hugo
    Rio
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Whatevs. A win would just be delaying the inevitable and adding more games to the calendar.

Reckon we will have another one of our good CL nights against them.

Gala seem to have some sort of weird Jeckyl and Hyde thing going on in the CL.

They go at teams at home and look a threat, then away from home they look slower, open to attacks and leak goals on a regular basis as they seem to play a higher line away.

Think we will win by two clear goals.

We should win but we have not won against worse opponents this season.

The general rhetoric after the first leg was that Gala missed a trick by not getting the second goal and that liverpool would routinely go through.

Let's say it was spurs that got galataseray in the last 16 and lost the first leg away one nil. Would the odds of Spurs to go through be 2/5 on?? Would it ****.

I think we will do it. But I thought that we would beat a Tottenham team missing about 8 first team starters too. And Leeds. And Burnley. And Wolves. And Fulham......

Oshimen is better than anything all of these teams have in terms of ability.to hurt us.

I think we'll cruise through. But I don't think I can be bothered to watch.

I don’t think we will, we’ll either scrape through or get knocked out.

All results are possible here any I wouldn't be surprised by any.

I think we need to pick the team considering the fact that extra time and penalties could be a factor, that being the case I would be starting players who you don't want to be taking penalties but also starting players who can get the crowd behind us. Getting the crowd going requires the player to do something on the pitch though, if they can feed off one another we could finish it in 90 mins, if the football is **** and they don't get the crowd onside I could see us going out with a wimper.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yip agree that anything could happen. We could win 5 nil or we could lose 3 nil. Or anything in between.

I think he might start Ngumoha. It will give the crowd a lift, he looks like he is on form and as you say, having Gakpo or Salah to come on at, say 60mins, would be handy if it goes beyond 90 mins. Only downside is I think he prefers Robbo behind Ngumoha.

Has the draw been done for the next round or is this speculation?

                      It's done already.

Yeah. It's predetermined now, like the World Cup.

Joe really is a problem hey

Arne Slot has confirmed Joe Gomez is a major doubt for Liverpool's Champions League showdown against Galatasaray on Wednesday.

But the Reds boss has allayed fears Ibrahima Konate has suffered an injury setback having been left on the bench at the weekend due to a hamstring concern.

Gomez sat out open training on Tuesday afternoon at the AXA Training Centre after starting both last week's 1-0 round of 16 first leg defeat in Istanbul and the 1-1 home Premier League draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Slot revealed he was compelled to play the 28-year-old in successive games after Konate complained of discomfort ahead of the clash with Spurs.

And the Frenchman is now poised to return to the centre-back position alongside captain Virgil van Dijk with a late decision to be taken on Gomez's availability.

"Joe we will decide tomorrow," said Slot. "He wasn't ready to train today. He had too many issues after our last game (v Tottenham) although he had those issues already after the Galatasaray game.

"It wasn't the plan to play him against Tottenham but unfortunately Ibou got discomfort in his hamstring so we couldn't take the risk of playing him.

"That's why Joe had to play, and (the issues) have build up so much now that he is a bit of a doubt for tomorrow. He is going to try tomorrow to see if he's available."

Asked if Konate was ready to play, Slot responded: “He is at this moment of time. The day after the game is recovery, if you play so many games with only two days of rest in between you cannot do a lot but he is declared completely fit, he doesn’t feel the discomfort anymore.

He's a forever problem that we should have got rid of years ago.
