May sound silly but I'm not convinced he is the right person to captain tbe team. Under the peak Klopp team the likes of Henderson and Milner were there to keep everyone honest and setting the standards both on tbe training ground and on the pitch. VVD even (especially) then found the game easy and never looked like he had to put maximum effort in in games, and even back then had the occasional moment. I think the reason we often look better when Robbo is on tbe pitch is because he is probably the one in the squad who sets that standard and bollocks players whom aren't reaching it. I'm no sure there are any others at the moment who do that.

I think this whole situation with Ekitike and the shirt swapping yesterday is another example of lack of leadership or policing of standards in the squad, new/young players might need some guidance, which is understandable, but after his red card for taking his shirt off someone should have had a word and made sure **** like this doesn't happen again

Even if it’s your mate asking for your shirt - tell him to **** off and then sort it out after of the pitch and swap shirts away from the cameras. Perception is everything.

I was lucky to go to a couple of games thee year we won the League when we were elite.

The player that blew me away was Hendo. In terms of controlling everything on the pitch as a leader he was elite. If anyone (mainly Trent ) wasn’t on it he was all over them. When we won 104 out of 107 points or whatever it was it was down to the likes of him and Milner setting and maintain standards then calling out anyone without ego affecting when they weren’t meeting the standards.

Yip agree completely. Was evident as **** during covid and you could hear him barking throughout the game.
