Agree. I don't get why it is so important to sign a new contract with him. He makes way too many bad decisions.

He's a total luxury player. Good to watch his skills but he leaves holes wherever he's stationed.

Wirtz hasn’t being playing left wing tho - Hugo has. Wirtz hasn’t played almost a free false 9 /10. Tho the formation has a lot of moving parts. Looks like the flex in the formation left us short changed.

I don’t think it’s an individual issue it’s the way the team is setup without the ball. You have that line of players high up the pitch who don’t actually press and teams like City easily pass through them and the rest of the team sit so deep there is then no one in midfield to stop them.

If you want to do that surely you need to rest of the team to push up the pitch as well and close those spaces and force the team to play long.

But depends what the tactic is for him out of possession. A lot of our play is high risk to leave players in advanced postions for when we turn over the ball. Whomevers job it was to back up Kerkez (and that may have been Wirtz) wasn’t doing it.

The thing to note is how complex our line up looks.
