Yeah just realized it’ll be 5am KO here so I’ll check when I wake up.

CL quarter final and I cant be arsed to watch it. Never in all my years as a Liverpool fan would I imagine feeling so ambivalent to a game of this significance....but that's just sums up how utterly **** we are to watch.

I cannot wait until this guy is gone.

Totally agree. I will watch it, it’ll be the first game I’ve sat down for for a good while.

If we put in a good shift in defence tonight and get away with a draw, we bring them back to Anfield we will beat them.

Anfield European nights, remember with Benitez we won the cup in 2005 with a pretty average team.

                Positivity!!

Damn right, and who is to say a draw is the best we might get tonight. The right attitude on the pitch and we can cause PSG problems.

We all know how good they are all over the pitch, we all know the problems they could cause us, but we have it in us to turn over good teams especially the ones in the CL that come at us.

We need to forget our woes for the next two games and dream big. We lose nothing by daring to hope.

Big game and no matter how it ends it is only half time in the tie.

Glad it's the away leg first as the atmosphere could have been weird at Anfield tonight.

Hope we do enough to stay in the tie tonight and then hope things have picked up by the second leg (hopefully we can get a win against Fulham inbetween to boost our confidence).

It does all have a feeling of impending doom to it which no amount of forced optimism can quell.

Realistically these will be too much for us over the two legs, especially without Allison, but we've seen miracles before so who knows.

We had an average team in 2005 apart from a few lads but we had grit and desire, this team has bundles of talent, top class players everywhere... it's bollocks and passion this team is lacking.

                          Hyypia
                          Hamann
                          Alonso
                          Gerrard
                          Garcia
                          Finnan
                          Riise
                          Carragher

Plenty of non average players made up the spine of that 2005 team though. Especialy the back four and in midfield.

Think with regards to the current team having top class players everywhere...some are skating by on past reputations and some are young players that might become very good to top class players.

Guys like Mamar, Kerkez, Ekitike, Rio and Frimpong might go on to be very good or top class for us but they are not here yet. Wirtz I think is a top class player but is a mix of adapting to playing in a new team that is disjointed and putting in decent performances at present.

Guys like Konate, Robertson, Salah, VVD, Gakpo and MacAllister were top class but some of those are past their best and/or badly out of form to varying degrees.

Ali is top class but is out injured.

Not really sure one could go through our team and say we are full of top class guys, top class being the sort of players that would walk into the best teams in Europe.

We do have a good squad, but think we are is a situation where a number of players have peaked earlier than we expected, similar to when our midifeld all seemed to age at the same time compared to the season before, and we are suffering because that has happened at the same time as all the other cock ups and bad stuff this season. Perfect cluster **** storm.

Only thing that is certain is a lot of changes are needed.

Yep, we have a lot of guys that think they're top class. That's part of the problem.

The players you listed from 2005, all had a bit of nasty about them, every single one had fight and passion. Finnan, Garcia, Riise and Hamann were decent at best but nobody can question their desire and commitment. I ll give you the other 3 were top class. We have the best keeper in the world,a guy who was the best CB in the world for years now up until this season, the most sought after young player in the world in Wirtz, one of the most sought after young strikers in the world in Hugo, one of the best strikers in Premier league in Isak, the best young player in the premier league last season in Grav, Mac who up until this season looked world class for us and of course record breaking Salah last season. A multitude of talent and ability but lacking fight and guts, up to the manager to fix that ****. This laid back pissy nonsense is polar opposite to the style that made us so successful in recent years. **** show alright and we need several changes for sure but for the moment we really need to get our balls back. Lads need to show up tonight and put in a shift and play for the badge, that is what is needed from now until the end of the season.

So basically what we have here are two Irish lads that are more or less in agreement about things.

Perfect reason to have a barney
