Does anyone know how he is doing this season? It would be interesting to know as we obviously rated him what with us getting a buy back clause and all. I think he would have been challenging Finnan this season if he had stayed.

He was homesick, and he was also being a bit of a primadonna. Also,his dad confronted Rafa when he wasn't in the squad for the WCC in Japan last year, which didn't go down well. For all intents and purposes it's a kind of glorified two year loan. It's supposed to be quite common in Spain. We "sell" him with a buy back clause written into the contract. In two years time we have the option of buying him back for the price set in the contract. They can't sell him on, or at least not without giving us the option of taking him back. If we don't buy him back in 2008, he's their's to do what they like with.Originally posted by Morphorino
