Luis Garcia will have a scan on Wednesday morning to determine the extent of the knee injury he sustained in the Carling Cup defeat to Arsenal.
Garcia was stretchered off during the second half and manager Rafael Benitez fears the Spaniard could be out of action for some time.

He said: "Luis has a knee problem but at this moment we don't have news. He will have a scan tomorrow but it looks like we could be without him for a long time."

Mark Gonzalez (shin) and Stephen Warnock (bruised ribs) also left the field injured during the game but neither player is thought to be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Stay tuned to Liverpoolfc.tv for the up to date injury news on Wednesday.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

ta for the info guys, all updated

We seem to be having a terrible time of it with the carling cup this season and injuries, would have been best if we'd been knocked out in the first round I think

Some of it may well be covered by an insurance policy

However the premium has probably sky-rocketed

It's a close good guess, but can only go on what has been reported.

Scummers running bottom of the table, and both of them are due back this week, jammy tw@ts!

Updated some of the injury return dates - Zenden, Gonzalez and Warnock are all in contention for the Chelsea game.

However I expect Warnock to maybe be left out if the B'burn move has a chance of going ahead, and Gonzo probably will make bench at best. Wonder if Bolo could be surprise starter ? Then we have Momo back for the Everton game, but I have a feeling he might make an apearance at West Ham.

That will just leave Kewell and Garcia.

Okay changed a few dates, courtesy of AFII theres a report that reckons Kewell is about 4 weeks from return. I doubt we'll see him v Barcelona, but the home fixture v Sheff Utd looks a nice game to settle him back into things.

Also Zenden seems to have been pushed back a little bit, so it will probably be West Ham at the end of the month for his return. Might even see a cameo from Momo in that match.

Only Sissoko and Kewell left to come back now this season, looks like we'll need sissoko v Newcastle with Alonso suspended, so good news that he's due back.
