We failed to take advantage of results which our way tonight, and hence we go back to the RW Rafa bought in the summer, on reflection, that position with someone more decent could have made all the difference this season.

It says a lot for Pennant that he was taken off with 10 minutes to go and replaced by a young and untried defensive midfielder - all while we were desperately seeking a winner.

I feel for Pennant - he's miles out of his depth, and you could see it getting to him when his frustration got the better of him.

I thought when i saw Newcastle vs Sheff Utd i had just seen the worst game of the season. I missed the first 15 mins of tonight's game. But what i saw was utter bollocks!

Rafa must come out, and go to town on that performance (castigate)! It just wasn't good enough, not nearly good enough. Injuries is not nearly an excuse - if it was a one-off maybe, but we are playing the worst football i've seen in long many a day.

Portsmouth are the worst team i've seen at Anfield all season and we should have went medieval on their asses. Instead we were limp. Limp doesn't even cover it. Pathetic.

I'm half-way locked and intend on being mortal before the nights out. Misery.

Utter ****e, the worst I've seen for ages.
Pennant was less than useless as was Kuyt. We never looked like scoring & as usual when SG can't win the game on his own we can't score.
The summer signings just have done the business. I know they need time to settle but Kuyt, Pennant, Gonzalez & Bellemy have added nothing to the side. I know people like Kuyt but I can't see it. sure he works hard but thats it.

Fowler looked past it tonight & I felt sorry for the 2 young subs coming on trying to win the game.
