Do you get a massive discount if Bolton are playing?Originally posted by red g View Postboltons de vere hotel u can stay in rooms looking at the pitch.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

of course the more things change the more they stay the same but yet contradiction is a higher form of truth than certainty. i like the zen buzz developing in this thread. anything is better than property development talk though. so say confucius.Originally posted by nobbylad View PostChange is the only constant

Unfortunately we must move on with the times mate - it's either that or become another Villa or Blackburn mate where we accept that an European place is the aim each season and lose further ground behind the likes of Chelsea and the Mancs.Originally posted by kev776 View PostWhy celebrate. We are selling the club to a foreign buyer, I know we need to to keep up with the jones etc etc but I still feel very sad that this is happening.
Just wait for the prawn sandwich brigades to arrive, and the corporate mass bookings by middle eastern companies buying blocks of 50 seats on the "famous Kop" to give away as prizes in raffles and competitions.
Hmmmmmm mixed emotions here...

No-one wants LFC to lose their values but if we want to continue to be seen as one of the top clubs around then we must 'go with the flow' as they say.
As it stands we simply cannot fight for the better players out there. If it means us 'selling ourselves' then I've come around to the fact that it is what's needed to be able to challenge on an even keel each season, unfortunately. I'd like to think that some of the better players will be playing for us in the coming seasons and for that to happen we must have money to spend (meaning new stadium and new owners). We must go down this route if we want to compete regularly.

No-one in their right mind - certainly no megabucks people from the UAE - would look for living accommodation in Ellesmere Port. Maybe they're going to buy that Cheshire Oaks shopping place?Originally posted by sean_lfc View PostCheers for the info Johnny, any idea what sort of property this could be (private for them to live in or some sort of op centre?) I assume the former

Indeed.
Suffice to say Moores and Parry have done a lot of good for the club, their crime is being too supportive of their managers (of course I'm referring to GH here and to a lesser extent Roy Evans and not Rafa).
Unfortunately, they have been incapable of taking the club up a level, particularly after our CL win, which probably should have raked in double the amount of money in merchandising sales etc than it did because they don't know how to market the club in the same way the scum, Chelsea and Real Madrid do.
The whole new stadium thing has been a fiasco pretty much from the start, if we'd built it at the time it was first proposed it would have cost half of what it will end up costing us now, but we ended up dilly-dallying because they couldn't secure funding for it.
Obviously you want the club to be run by locals, supporters, people with the club's best interests at heart, but because they have the heart and the spirit, it doesn't unfortunately mean they have the acumen to run the club.
I would say thanks to Moores and Parry for all they've done, thank them for always putting the club first, and doing the best they could, thank them for bringing in Rafa and keeping, but most of all thank them for moving on at the right time and finding the right owners to take the club to a new level.White liquid in a bottle = Milk
