I for one don't know, but I would have thought that is quite unlikely as Dubai is pretty stable country.......at the moment

My guess is that the royal family move to America and continue raking in the money from their international investments. To be honest they seem a much safer long term bet than say Roman Abramovic.

Parry and Moores would have been careful to choose the right investment group, if there was any real danger of this happening i'm sure they would have stayed clear, although now you mention it it is worrying

It's one of the most secure economies in the world, is it not? It's less likely to be overthrown than Glazer or Abromovich going bankrupt.

Well I've read that Saudi is considered unstable, but don't know much about Dubai.

I've heard their oil is going to run out in something like 7/10 years, so they are busy building to ensure there is a reason for people to keep coming to Dubai.

Hence, the Islands being built, and the world's tallest building.

If there is anything like a safe pair of hands when it comes to investing, I'm pretty sure Moores and Parry have found it in the sands of Dubai...

Saudi Arabia is nothing to do with Dubai, other than it's located relatively close. Dubai have been planning for the day they run out of oil for years. It's a phenomenal place with a massive future there, with or without oil. It's not your stereotypical arabic country.

Tourism has overtaken oil as the biggest earner and has led to massive inward investment and development. As a result of this the biggest thgreat to the wealth of Dubai would probably be terrorism or an attempt at regime change. This is supposedly why Dubai Holdings was set up - to accumulate business and invest to make them leaders of their field with a view to them being a security blanket should terrorism affect Dubai's income.

On the same note they seem to try and excel at whatever business they take a hand in , in order to create pretsige for Dubai as a nation.

Which is pretty much like being a state in the US or being Wales in the UK, they are part of the country of U.A.E. When people reference Dubai, they usually mean the city not the emirate.

Dubai is no banana republic, tourism and commerce are big there now too. DIC are probably as safe hands as there are for us to be in.
