Anyone else think he looks and runs like Steve Finnan? On 2 or 3 occasions last night I was asking myself what the hell is Finnan doing playing Left Midfield.
      Cheers.

The stream I watched was on-off, so I didnt get a very clear impression.

I thought he didn't look as good as previous games, still did alright though.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Playing on the wing might have had something to do with that. He is a centre midfielder, I believe.

I thought he coped pretty well for playing the poisoned chalice position of Left Midfield.

Tidy on the ball, hard working, and looks a better player than Potter ever did.

Fairly nervous performance, obviously due to the fact that it was the CL - he wasn't alone though. Both himself and Peltier did not look as assured as they did on their previous 1st team outings. Nevertherless, it'll be good experience for them and they both look like promising players.

I thought that the other 'newbie' Paletta had a nightmare. I suppose when you change the defensive line-up so drastically then there is always a risk that someone is going to become a scapegoat and throughout the game Paletta seemed to look a bit lost at times.

Anyway - this match was an excellent way to blood a few youngsters - so no harm done, but I reckon that all three mentioned above still have some way to go to make the grade at LFC.

I thought Peltier did pretty well, considering Pennant in front of him and Paletta next to him (Neither performing well.)

The only thing that Peltier got wrong was getting too close to his man, and him then exploiting the slightest touch, something that he will soon learn.

                    Looks a good prospect.

i was quite impressed with both peltier and guthrie. as mentioned before peltier did well considering he had pennent in front and paletta next to him. Peltier will learn that the CC differs in many ways to the reserve leagues including players going down at the drop of a hat. see felt he did well and if he can learn from last night all the better for himand us. Felt guthrie played well considering he is not a left winger.
do have to agree, the fact he looks like finnan.
Brother in law walked and a saw guthrie and said "I though finnan was being rested tonite"
Just look at the face: it's vacant, with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet.
