Team & Match Thread V Gala

LIVERPOOL: Dudek, Peltier, Carragher, Agger, Paletta, Riise, Pennant, Alonso, Guthrie, Fowler, Bellamy.

SUBS: Martin, Anderson, Roque, Darby, Kuyt, Crouch, Garcia.

Be looking at midfield and defence closely tonight with thee relative newbies in there along with Agger. Alot of questions will be asked of Fowler tonight aswell. would liek to see Anderson come on if Pennant isnt impressing.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

        Get Anderson on!

Funny that because I started the day shouting "Get Anderson off!" Jimmy not Paul

JAR or Agger to score first

Very interesting team today. I doubt it`s good enough to deal with Gala, but it`s well worth it giving the youngsters a taste of the big time.

I would have thought that 3-5-2 would be the way we set up.

Looking forward to seeing how the young lads get on.
An emotional night for the Dude, Carra, Riise and Alonso!

Hope Anderson gets a run out.

                      Paletta can't play left back
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Apart form Agger and Paletta switching positions i'd have the same line up.
I'd be very disappointed if we went 3-5-2 with that team, just doesn't suit Pennant in particular especially with him looking to regain a bit of confidence, can't see him achieving that playing centre midfield, suicidal move i'd have thought.
