I understand where you are coming from but unfortunatley its all about money thesedays, Chelsea changed the goalposts with their rediculous spending. Hopefully we wont go down that road but as my son has been on the season ticket waiting list for 8 years, it shows how much money we are losing due to the small capacity of Anfield.

Frankly the Camp Nou is no great shakes - graffiti and pigeon droppings all over the plastic seats and it has a down-at-heel feel. I couldn't believe how shabby it was when I went there. It's a bad analogy, but other new stadia in the UK and abroad show Anfield to be stuck in a timewarp.

It's time we moved on. We were the last team in the top flight to have pitchside advertising, the last to have an electronic scoreboard and the last to have a website. We deserve a proper stadium befitting of our status in the world game

Man United have 30,000 more (people or muppets) per home than us.

        Thats reason enough to leave.

Agreed, although its sheer vastness literally took my breath away when I first walked in and saw the pitch.

          Definitely run down though.

            I want a new stadium.

As long as it's absolutely nothing like the Emirates, which should be viewed as how NOT to build a modern football stadium, I've been there, horrible, souless, vastly over spacious, comercial pile of wank...

Therein lies the problem though, huh?

Can anyone name a new stadium that isn’t a soulless, corporate cock sucking hell-hole?

Man City’s ground is about as close as I’ve seen, but even then their ground is silent every week – and the same could not have been said for Maine Road.

                  Bingo.

Although it may not be the best barometer – given that 99% of games played there are Cup finals or games of similar magnitude. I’m sure if, say, Ashburton Grove only held Cup finals, that’d be rocking too.

Oh, and 'millennium' has two Ns, as just demonstrated.

It may have something to do with 'Cup finals' Shaggy.

But It's very tight to the pitch, the stands are steep, it has a roof etc etc...

                      Perfect for a good atmosphere.

Yep agreed with all of that, regardless of the Cup finals aspect.

It seems to have a clear edge on all the other new stadia in England. And correct me if I’m wrong, it also cost a damn sight less than the majority of other new grounds.

                        Why?

Benfica's new Stadium. Was excellent. A real ampitheatre.

There has to be somekind of trade off though.

The steeper the sides the less light gets to the grass - therefore crap pitch
The gentler the sides the more atmosphere is lost.

Very tough for the designers I would have thought.
