This is one thing I hope they can keep with the new stadium. Hate it when the pitch is far away from the seats.

Very tough for the designers I would have thought.
Ah but we have those special mobile light gantry thingies to shine their glorious light over the pitch at night

        Why?
exactly , wembley may have a silly arch, it may be a bit bigger than the millenium stadium, but everyone can call the welsh backwards, sheep shaggers, midgets, whatever the **** you want, but name many stadiums that can be built for that price, in the centre of town, surrounded by bars, clubs etc giving you that close proximity to the pitch

best stadium + location in the world.....fact

I want a new stadium. All those against should first indicate if they currently have a season ticket. If they have their vote should not count. There are vast numbers of people waiting for season tickets-me included-the aesthetics of a new stadium don't bother me. I just want to be able to get to the match!!!

Yeah. Plenty of people don't have problems growing grass in their bedrooms and basements.

But there are far easier ways to make money than by 'fixing up' and selling on a football club. In fact I'd say that's one of the worst ways. It's too costly and too risky. The only way this mooted investment makes sense is if it's planned as long term.

Exactly, it's taken us years to find a buyer plus we won the most prestigious club competition in the world in that time. An investment group would not be looking at a premiership club to make money. Hardly anyone makes money in the short term by investing in a football club.

Or if the return he is looking for is more than just financial e.g. brand association.

I agree with everyone who says it is the fans that make the stadium a special place. And as for the move, we have to. Every time the Scum fill their ****pit they make, at a conservative estimate, between half and three quaters of a million more than we make when we fill Anfield. Repeat that 20 plus times a season and it really matters. The new ground will be as great as we choose to make it.

I would love to remain at Anfield but its financially better for us to go to a bigger stadium plus we arent allowed to build on to Anfield are we?

We will make new memories at the new stadium in the Rafa years

It will be a sad day when it gets knocked down but we will all have the memories.

What a coincedence.I was having a chat about this with a lad in the shop earlier while getting some beers. I don't really want to move but fully understand that we have to.

LFC's history is at Anfield, and it's going to be difficult to 'carry on regardless' at another stadium, however good it is, or whatever it's called.

I think it's a simple case of 'move on or be left behind'.

I'ts going to be a new era for our beloved club and lets hope we can have the same success as the last one.

New stadium, and rest of Premiership, here we come!!

We all love Anfield with a passion and it will always be in our hearts but we need a bigger stadium with better facilities and my hope is that the New Anfield will bring us more glory days well into the future

Don't forget that the main thing that has made Anfield so special over the years is Us!!! The Fans!!! So there's no reason why we can't make the new stadium as special in the future
I think we HAVE to move, Anfield is the best stadium INMO, I will cry when we leave. I just wish we could expand the stadium.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May i know why we can't expand Anfield like what ManU did to OldToilet?

                                Put it this way....

If we didn't move to a new stadium now and just ploughed the money into the team, we may get success on the pitch in the short term, yes I agree. But....

What would happen when the Dubai group move on, we would more than likely have to look elswhere in the City for a ground after turning down this one with the Council.

All the work that has gone into this, all the planning and getting approval at all levels (not to mention the money), would just go to waste and if we wanted to do it in the future we would have to start that process all over again.

We would lose the funding towards regenerating the area and it would go to other projects. Anyone whether they are from the area or not can see that it badly needs regeneration.

Where would extra revenue come from so many years down the line when Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal are still raking it in? We currently have the 6th largest stadium of clubs in the English Football leagues behind Man Utd, Arsenal, Newcastle, Man City (!!) & Sunderland (!!). By the time we got round to doing this project again it's likely Chelsea and West Ham could also have bigger stadiums, where does that leave us for a club of our size?

This guy is supposedly putting the money on the table now to build this stadium and clear our debts and we are't going have to get ourselves into massive debts to pay for the new stadium, whether they hang around for long or not, we can't afford to turn this opportunity down.

We're simply not in a position to say no to a new stadium and stay where we are, the future of the club at the top level would be seriously in doubt in the long term.
