You should look at what what he has done for us as a team, his scoring record his work rate and his involvement in our goals (and he has never been involved in us conceding) his contribution to us winning the champions league and his ability to knock chelsea out of cup semi finals and his yearly scorching volley and his excellent aerial abilty.

I thought everybody deserved at least 7 and Finnan, Xabi, Agger and even Pennant getting an 8. Bellamy and Kuyt worked hard and we played good football and totally dominated them. Liverpool had 14 corners to 1, 32 shots against 6 and 19 on target and we scored 4 goals and kept a clean sheet for the second game running and Kuyt should have gotten two penalties today instead of one.
Garcia is very good and I would loathe to loose him, even if only for his goals and he seems to be good for morale. Pennant is looking better and was very involved today IMO. He and Finnan ripped Rosenior to shreds.
Just allow yourself to happy with this one.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Luis Garcia is one of those players. He is an enigma. He won't give you consistent solid performances but he just makes things happen. I like to see him in the team or usually as a sub. If I was 1-0 down with 30 minutes to go I'd love a little Luis to bring on

I'd give Pennant a 7. Sure, he could have done better, but his performance today was a massive improvement on his form thus far, and I hope today was good for his confidence. He worked hard, used his pace well, was lively throughout and looked dangerous whenever he had the ball at his feet. Some of his crosses could have been better, and there were times where I would have rather seen him shoot or cut inside instead of crossing the ball, but you're not going to build Rome in a day.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostAgger got two assists he deserves more. JP was also really good in the first half in particular. Again, he deserves a higher rating.
I've mentioned repeatedly how much of a disappointment Pennant has been for us this year. But he did a damn good job today, for me he was our best player in the first half. I hope this is the start of a trend and not a one-off for him. Well done Jermaine.

Without wanting to start an argument mate, why would anyone 'hate' an LFC player?Originally posted by Jack D Rips View PostYou Pennant haters just cant give him any credit can you?
People probably dont rate him, but i doubt they 'hate' him. There's no LFC fan who wouldnt want Pennant to be superb for us.

You cannot describe a midfielder with Garcia's goalscoring record as a 'liability'.Originally posted by Marky18Mate, Garcia was ****e, i watched the whole game and he gave the ball away constantly, slowed down our attacks on a few occasions and generally put in a miserable performance yet again today.
The lad's so overrated by Liverpool fans it's untrue, said it before and i'll say it again Luis Garcia is a liability, nuff said.

The stuff Crouch has had to put up with has been well over the top.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostWell looking at the crap posted about Crouch, you have to wonder.
But, while i dont agree with it, or condone it, it didnt surprise me that he got it, having gone 18 odd games without scoring.
That, however, was then.
Anyone who doesnt rate him now, IMO, doesnt know their football.
As for Pennant, i defended his signing emphatically when he joined, while people were crucifying him. I didnt know if he'd cut it, but i hoped he would.
I was trying to get people to give him a chance before making up their minds. I'm still hopeful, but from what i've seen so far, i dont rate him at all.
That however, doesnt mean i 'hate' him, or want him to fail. The fella who made that suggestion about Pennant 'haters' was off the mark, IMO.
I, like any true LFC fan, wants EVERY LFC player to succeed. That surely goes without saying.Last edited by Craig_H; 10-12-06, 01:30 AM.

I hear what you're saying, but if he was listed as a striker, then the number of goals he's scored looks slightly less impressive.Originally posted by ronan View Postyou know if ppl thought of garcia as a third striker maybe they wouldnt give him as much stick
the goals he has and does score for us have been huge and he has an excellent goals to games ratio
I'll keep thinking of him as a midfielder

Reina (7) Made 2 sharp saves, with a little more to do would have been 8.
Finnan (8) I thought he had his best game in ages
Riise (6) Below the standard of the rest of the team today.
Agger (8) Got two assists and its great seeing a defender at the club who can really pass a football.
Carra (9) Scored
Alonso (7) Didn't look right first half, significantly improved second
Gerrard (7) For him, relatively only a good game I thought.
Pennant (7) Still needs to get less decisions wrong, but was a genuine outlet all match. Pleasing
Garcia (6) Great header, but another somewhat frustrating game.
Bellamy (7) I thought he showed genuine intelligence of movement today. He'll be fine
Kuyt (7) Same. Should have scored several, but the lad is a real handful and I love watching him play.
Gonzales (8) Very impressive cameo
Crouch (6)
Fowler (6)
Strange, we win 4 - 0 and my natural inclanation is to rate the defenders highest.

I'm a big Garcia fan even and today was typical of him. He was very frustrating and lost the ball several times. But he was always involved in anything we created. He was trying headers when maybe he should have, he was wayward with his shots, and understandbly the crowd was getting on his back. At this point I almost expect him to lose the ball....
I know it's been said before but losing the ball 10 times a game is worth it if he scores. And the goals he scores are spectacular! The goal today was incredible let's face it. How many players have you seen scoring a goal like that? A player like Garcia changes games so we suffer the awful passing, just for those special strikes. I saw a compilation of his LFC goals on youtube and it's worth searching for. Might make some on here reconsider.
Now Riise on the other hand... don't get me started. A powerful shot and a good long throw but he is really out of form at the minute.

Reina 8 - Great performance. A couple of good saves, one in particular in the first half. A fantastic long field pass up to Kuyt in the second half which should of resulted in a goal and good distribution all around. Pepe looks to be back to his best.
Finnan 8 - His best perfomance of the season. Lots of over lapping play, plenty of good crosses and very good link up with Pennant.
Riise 7 - Solid
Agger / Carra 8 - Very good performances by the pair with one assist by Agger and a goal from Carra.
Garcia 7 - Typical Garcia game. Flashes of sloppy passing, brilliance and a goal. Needs to play as much as possible imo. We look a far better attacking side when he plays.
Alonso 6 - Probably our worst player on the pitch, especially in the second half where he played much better. Needs to get in some shooting practice..
Gerrard 7 - Drove the team on in the second half. Poor penalty, lucky with the rebound. Is it just me or does anyone else not fel comfortable when Stevie takes a peno?
Pennant 8 - His best game in a red shirt particularly in the first half. More of that please Jermaine.
Kuyt 6 / Bellamy 7 - Worked very hard throughout but without much final product. Kuyt didn't have his shooting boots on and his anticipation in the box wasn't as great as it should be.
Subs:
Fowler 5 - Not agreat appearance. Does not look sharp at all.
Crouch 5 - Not enough time to do anything of note
Gonzalez 7 - Looked good when he came on and scored a great goal. He's apparently a free kick specialist...hope he scores plenty this season.
Rafa 8 - Played our strongest first 11 and let Gerrard off his leash in the second half. Well done Rafa
Rennie 4 - Worst Ref in the premiership. We should have had two first half penalties. The second hand ball in thebox was right in front of him. He's f*cking crap.
