Most competent defender?
How utterly bizarre. I think Carra and Sami would have an awful lot to say about your claim, rightfully.
Don’t get me wrong – he’s a good, solid defender. He has a massive weakness in the air, though, and can be done for pace easily. Going forward he is okay, but far too ponderous, indecisive and one paced to be considered an “attacking right back”. He crosses a good ball off both feet though, in fairness to him. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I realise that, i was merely stating that getting a player of his quality for anything under 3m is a good deal IMO.Originally posted by bazza76 View Post3million with 6 months left is a rip off. Id rather sign him for free in the summer.
And being Australian has nothing to do with it Howard.

Wow, it's a small world, I ****ed your mum in the arse last weekend.Originally posted by ronanm View PostYes I am serious - he is the best and most competent of the back four, and also can offer something going forward. If you were serious then you are in fact a mong.
What you said was:
...besides Carragher, Hyppia, and Agger. So basically we have at least four competant defenders, of which Finnan is probably the worst defensively (that's not to say that he's **** before you say anything). So what exactly was your point?Finnan is top drawer in any case - one of the few defenders we have in the team!Such an ugly face, such an ugly mouth.

He can sign a pre-contract in January and leave on a free in the summer. They (Not sure if it's Blackburn or the Reporter) are clutching at straws.
He cant be worth more than 500k and no player exchange in January."For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son"

Hyypia was a competent and good defender. He is to slow now. Just look at the difference between when we play Carra and Hyypia and when we play Carra and Agger.
It's not that often that we keep a clean sheet when Hyypia play but when Agger play then we keep a clean sheet most of the time.Last edited by AFII; 12-12-06, 12:33 PM.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Why don't you wipe your upper lip as you clearly cannot see through the peanut layden tash your b/f gave you earlier - my original post said he was "one of the few decent defenders we have" not the only decent defender we have.Substance > Style

Getting Neill as a replacement for Hyypia would be a disaster. Sami's Biggest Strength is his ability in the Air. Neill's Biggest weakness is his ability in the Air
I would sign Neill though as he provides cover in all the positions at the back and always gives 100% for the team. I would pay maximum 500k in January or wait untill the summer though"For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son"

I agree with that. I don't think anyone could reasonably think that we're getting Neill to replace any of Agger, Carra, or Finnan. Without Sami, we're noticably vulnerable to crosses and long balls because Agger and Carra aren't particularly brilliant in the air. I'd rather see us sign someone who is better in the air than Neill. However, Neill would be great against teams of ****houses like Bolton and Everton. I'd love to see him crunch Cahill.Originally posted by SouthAfricaRed View PostGetting Neill as a replacement for Hyypia would be a disaster. Sami's Biggest Strength is his ability in the Air. NO NO NO NO NO NO
I don't understand why we would sign him. He had a reasonable world cup and now he is suddenly highly rated.
We have no need to scrape around the bottom of the transfer market if investment is immenant. Even if, Rafa doesn't get any money till next year, I am sure we can survive the rest of the season without signing Lucas.
If we sign him he will just become another Josemi
We need to start showing more ambition in the transfer market
