    Bingo!
I think it's purely coincidental. Pace will never be a substitute for quality.

Bellamy is both pacy and has quality. Not as much as peak Fowler but I think he is better currently.

Even if fowler is still a shadow of his former self, he'll still get more goals per minute than kuyt or bellamy - the stats prove this aswell.
Yes but he's been absolute rubbish when he has been given a start this season. When he came on at the weekend he could barely muster a stroll never mind a run. He was a great striker 10 years ago, now he's just the bloke City couldn't wait to get rid of and no-one else would touch with a bargepole. There's no room for sentiment in football. Let's see if anyone swoops for this fantastic striker in January - but don't hold your breath

he has pace, but so did cisse......in fact cisse got goals aswell! bellamy is championship standard and i think he'll be gone as soon as we have a budget which doesn't restrict us to buying stopgaps.

Robbie scores more goals per minute than any of our other strikers therefore he should start whenever possible. And his contribution/link up/passing is superb. I can't be arsed to check but I bet his passing stats are pretty impressive aswell.
Well, your first word is the nub of the argument. It's all seems a bit hypothetical - I mean, if he isn't scoring goals, then what?

You really are in danger of oversimplifying I think.

I agree with you we could do with another, better striker although I expect that's true for all clubs, including Chelsea.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Because how we play affects how many goals the whole team scores! The whole point is to get the TEAM scoring the most goals. Robbie could score a goal every other game and play all season long (which would take a miracle btw) but if that meant others were not scoring it would not be worth it, would it?!

there weren't many "swooping" for bellamy either. why get rid of fowler him in january with his goals/minutes ratio since he arrived?? don't confuse aimless running around, with striking talent.....

We have to build for the future to ....so you are advocating playing fowler with another every game and rotating crouch/kujt and bellamy hmmmmm

Robbie was one of the best and yes he has changed his style and yes he will always be numero uno. But he aint no Henrik Larsson. Robbie hasnever been a model pro and think he is suffering for that now.

Fowler is a supersub and for that i willl love him

Clearly not, I was just illustrating the concept to you, which was why I used words like 'if' and 'could'.

I'm not saying play Fowler BECAUSE he's Robbie Fowler or even because of his record back when he was younger. My argument is....play the Striker(s) with the best goals ratio - whoever it might be. I'll admit that I loathe Bellamy and cannot believe such a limited cuntbag has ended up at our club, but in all honesty, I'd be wanting him to start if he was delivering the goods.

Robbie is well past it. His overall contribution in games is poor. I would put Crotch, Kuyt and Bellend all comfortably ahead of him in the pecking order.

Our first priority upfront is to replace Robbie (sadly) The arguement is moot anyway because he'll retire at the end of the season.

Fowler only has one goal in the league and that was from the penalty spot. I think that the games he has played have been misrepresentative of what would happen if he was played in tougher fixtures.

You are also very dismissive of Bellamy and really don't see why.

I didn't know he'd announced his retirement!?? In that case, I should rename the thread...."2 New Strikers Are A Must".
