    i agree.

although i thought kuyt was meant to be a 20 goal a season type player. maybe if we'd been playing well all season he would have had that kind of record

      Aye
Bellamy works harder, knows how to make runs, has a football brain, need I go on?

Yes I agree, I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't banging in the goals regularly soon - next season could be a 20 plus one effort.

However, if we persist with 2 up top, then we will need a new striker anyway because Fowler will be picking up his pension next season.

theres still 21 league games left you never know.
i agree that we need a new striker but it is not a necessity for the jan transfer market and i dont think we will get one in jan unless its a youngster.

who would repalce robbie anyway, that would leave their clubs in jan??

FFS. Robbie is NOT our best striker. He will always be a legend...but he is past it now.

Sure he can still score goals, but he runs out of legs very quickly. Why do you think he doesnt get many games....IMO its because he gets knackered after a 90 minute outing, and it takes 2 weeks for him to get fit again.

Crouch or Kuyt should partner him at the moment, but we need someone a bit better than those two in the long term.
Who does A. Must play for ? do we have any youtube videos of his goals ? I have to admit I have never hear of him

The problem with Bellamy is that he can't play against a negative team that plays very deep.

Right now I would play Crouch at home and Bellamy away together with Kuyt.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The likes of Kuyt, Crouch and Bellamy are all complementary forwards. They all have different styles and strengths. But how many of them are likely to get 20 plus goals a season?
..which was the exact point of my thread - we need a new striker.

why do we need another striker? wasnt kuyt our new striker too? what the feck are we going to do with 5 feckin strikers!!!! besides have one pissed off sidelined bellamy(impromptu press conferences included) an even unhealthier/slower fowler whose ass must of already made a good impression of god on the bench its always sitting on,a kuyt no one wants to fly, and crouchy doing the robot from the sidelines to keep in practice.

we need to give the lads some continuation, some consistent use.thats how a striker gets going, finds his touch.read fowlers biography - constant playing is what a striker needs to start hitting the back of the net - not a start every third game.rafas only mistake this season if u ask me.

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Yes but with poor old Robbie, even aimless running around is beyond him now. I could almost hear him puffing and panting in his cameo appearance on Saturday. It was pitiful to watch. If he was a horse he would have been shot long ago
