If it's true that Dubai holdings have bought Moores 51% then we can afford him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

As an alternative to Alves, what about Micah Richards? Good at defending, accustomed to the English game, seemed good at getting forward.

City would probably let him go for less than what Alves will go for.

          Well?

Both players would cost more than £15m each.

Back of today's Echo, Chris Bascombe's saying Chelsea are considering making an offer for Alves. Say Rafa always intended to make another move for him before the start of next season, but Chelsea's interest and Seville's start to the season look like scuppering that.

Not all players wanna play for Chelsea you know. We don't know if some sort of agreement was reached during the negotiations in the summer. If he's available and we can afford him - I think he'll come here instead of joining the chavs.

You're probably right, but the article was saying that his club's form this season, and his form as well, was probably pushing his price up. Of course he doesn't have to join any club, he can stay where he is. If his club want to cash in on him (which they didn't seem to want to in the summer) then they can only cash in on him to a club that he wants to join. It's how good he is at holding his nerve that makes the difference - remember how Owen could have come back to us if he'd not panicked and fallen for Fat Freddie Shepherd's 'charms'.

We need to keep sending him reports about what happened to Shaun Wright-Phillips when he picked Chelsea.

I think we're agreeing here. However - I believe that we're still in pole position for him and secondly - Sevilla were asking £12m for him in the summer and they can't realistically up that by another £5m for a right back - who doesn't represent his country can they?

I think it's us who should be holding our nerve.

The key will probably be if Sevilla qualifies for the CL.

He hasn't signed the improved deal that Sevilla have offered him yet and that was over a month ago.

The RUMOUR is that he want clause in his contract that would allow him to leave for much less money if they miss out on the CL and that is what has stopped the improved deal from being signed.

How long has he got left on his contract?

I am agreeing with you Howard - money isn't everything. Although he's not the most popular player with everyone, Harry Kewell turned down bigger offers to join us, and others have done it too.

I reckon number 6 sparkling in the trophy cabinet would help Alves to make his mind up.
