I know - HIM again. Obviously the transfer window has closed, but I thought some of you might be interested in what Figaro is saying on YNWA:

"The news here in Sevilla is that Del Nido wanted to accept Madrid's last minute offer of €15 million plus Cicero Joao de Cezare 'CICINHO' for Alves but Alves said he wanted to stay for one more season on condition that he would be allowed to leave for the club of his choice come next summer.

The agent of Real Sociedad's Xavi Prieto has been telling other agents that his client has a verbal agreement to join LFC next season if he decides to leave the Basque club."

and:

"Benítez told Alves to wait and be patient. I think he's doing just that."

I really hope we do end up getting Alves, either in January or next summer.

The Alves story is beginning to sound a lot like the Kuyt story, in that he's Rafa first choice, it is nice to see that Alves is sounding like a decent bloke and waiting for Liverpool to come in for him.

If, this story is true, it makes you wonder why Dunga doesn't rate him, as Cicinho played in the RB position against the Argies?!

Good to hear that.

Alves can become a great little player in the coming years with his energy, speed, skill and shooting abilities. He'd be a great option down the right flank for us, especially when Finnan calls it a day.

The cover would be good asap though.

Just made me wonder how good/highly rated he is? Dunga is giving a lot of the lesser known guys a run and it should have been a perfect opportunity for alves to have a go.

Alves wants to join IMO - I hope Rafa still wants him come January because he is one class act and would fit into the style of play Rafa is putting into place.

Brazil do have a habit of capping up and coming players just in case they turn out to be decent and eligible for another country (apart from Deco!)

What RAFA wants RAFA gets. Next summer Alves will be a red. Look at Kuyt for example.
Benny couldn't buy him last year but he got him this year.
