    crouch-unfortunate or lazy

do you feel crouch is slightly unfortunate this season as in he has scored a few goals but remains stuck to the bench or is he a lazy player who after scoring a few goals sits back on his plaudits( him against everton, arsenal) and benitez is right to bench him( maybe even sell him)

but like all the greats it will burn out some day

I think Benitez chooses it on a game by game basis, but obviously seems to favour Kuyt and Bellamy.

He's been unlucky in my opinion.

He was injured for a couple of weeks though, I think?

He's not mobile enough for the way Rafa appears to want the team to go is my read on it. I think he still has a place in the squad but to balance out the team, especially since the wingers have offered little goal threat from open play we are playing Kuyt and Bellamy more than him.

With decent wingers firing decent balls, he would be first pick without a doubt.

I am baffled to be honest by Crouch's treatment this season, for me he's our no.1 striker. Whats particularly hard to understand is that last season Crouch was seen as a major factor in our much improved away form in the league. Yet despite our poor away form this season he has not been an automatic choice.

Crouchy is quality but Kuyt and Bellamy is the best partnership. So in that respect he is a bit unlucky in that the best two strikers together doesn't necessarily make the best pairing.

That Robot dance may have made him an england folk hero but maybe rafa thinks his england form has gone to his head a bit!!

I agree LFC4ever - If we had better/on form wingers then he would feature more. Next season i think we will see Rafa play one up top more and when he does that, Crotch will feature more.

He's certainly not lazy, isn't there some crazy stat that says he runs 50,000 miles each game? (slight exaggeration)

Agree & yes, the prozone thing that Rafa uses shows he puts in more miles than anyone else.

The thing with this season, as has been said, Rafa has tried to bed in too many players from the start, and it backfired.

He runs more than some midfielders during a game, how you can even put lazy and Peter Crouch in the same sentence is beyond.
A little unganely? Too damn right
                            Lazy? Not in the slightest.

Wingers do not help Crouch's game. He terrible in the air for somebody his height. He will never be number one choice as a striker because he is not mobile enough.
