Kuyt is class and the best striker we have had in ages. Yesterday wasnt his best game but no one plays great every game. When that becomes the norm rather than the exception it'll be time to worry.

He hasnt been very good the last 3-4 games imo, hence my slight worry. But, in reply to Al further up, I also said after the season is when I will judge any of the new signings.

Comparing Kuyt to Morientes--I think that's a bit much. Yes, Kuyt isn't scoring, and he's been poor in front of goal these last couple of games, but he's still making an important contribution to the team, evidenced by the fact that he was involved in both goals yesterday. This makes him rather difficult to bench. Morientes, on the other hand, often looked, well, useless.

Nando gave us some nice assists even when he wasn't scoring, but the thing is he also lost the ball needlessly far too often because physically he wasn't up to it in terms of both strength and pace. Kuyt regularly retains possession for us in situations where Nando would have ceded possession. All that is aside from the fact he will score many more goals than Nando did for us.

Kuyt is the best striker at Liverpool. Some of his movement and link up play is uncomparable to any of the others at the club.

I actua;;y think he's looking good in the scoring department. i'm more worried about the time he spends away from the centre to be honest. He's out on the wings and dropping deep too often IMO. I saw a lot of him in Holland and he is a pretty damn good finisher.

He's averaging a goal every 2 and a half games in the Prem so far, thats not bad going for his first half season here. He might of started very well but he's still settling in to so there will be a few off days like this. He also had no pre season with us as he only signed a few days before the Sheff Utd game, he's been ****ing class especially taking all this into account I think.
