The Billy Whitehurst of his day. Big, hard, ugly, vicious Donkey - so my Dad says.

Louie Bimpson! Never heard of him either - but am prepared to consider him for legendship purely for having that name!

He played with Liddell - who was no softie himself, by all accounts.

Apparently a certain Mr Moran was not averse to putting his foot in when required.

Smith and Yeats no doubt, but Alec Lindsay was the dirtiest.

I almost choked as well when I saw MacDonald's name. Maybe it was just the moustache that made him look soft, but I never had him down as a hardman. I agree that he was a reasonable player.
Souness is probably the hardest player I've seen, though McMahon runs him close.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Ask this question in 10 years and Momos name is going to be up there IMO
                    (If he stays with us)

Even Carra sayd that he would be the toughest in a fight and I expected Carra to name himself there.

                      Id go along with this.

Case was brought up on a tough Liverpool housing estate close to the docks. He graduated through the schools teams and then joined a tough dockers' side, Blue Union. The physical nature of these early games would have an impact on the rest of his football career.
Ah that brings back memories - he was my hero when I was young. He signed his autograph for me and wrote on my thumb - refused to wash it for days. I even wrote to him and got a signed photo back

Alec Lindsay was great ... & .... he should have been awarded that goal in the 74 FA Cup Final ... it still bugs me!

Tommy Smith was the hardest player I've seen !
