    totally disagree
comparing our transfer policy with that of man utd is as pointless as comparing tranmeres with ours.
totally different in terms of money coming in the way the club is run etc etc
we do not nor can afford to spend the type of money on players like those mentioned
rooney 2o odd milllion at age 17??
ronaldo who we had agreed to buy until man u came in and tripled our offer on their first??
we get players like pennant for 7 m because if some club continue to try and screw us by raising the price a number of times,we say no,thats our limit accept it or we move on.
    as for arsenal
wenger has to be given huge credit he has bought and sold better than most
he has had his fair share of duds too but some of his sales have been phenomonal. that along with success on th epitch is the key to their spending power.
have a look at their toal outlay in the last ten years and i gaurantee you we have far exceeded them.

The thing is the £6-7m we spent on Pennant and Bellamy were risks as they were even at that price.

I`ll state the obvious again then fella :whatever: EVERY signing is a risk..............out of momo and morientes ( roughly cost the same, give or take a million ) who would you have backed to be a sucess
