I see no point in selling him whatsoever. Who can we get that is better, who will be happy to sit on the bench?

It's very naive/facetious to say he offers nothing.
      What does Kuyt offer then?
Kuyt offers more pace and strength then Crouch, he links the play better then Crouch, he can head the ball, shows more game intelligence, looks like he can score and thus poses more of a danger then Crouch.

Can he score more then Crouch? well if he didn't spend so much tie outside of the box i think he can.

(i say these things as a Kuyt critic too)
      We come not to play.

Today again we saw that Crouch is normally static when he gets the ball and cant run the channels or get past a defender. He kept losing the ball today and putting pressure on the defence. He was not contributing anything for me.

What exactly does he offer consistently other than goals?
        Isn't he a striker??
Maybe we should we be looking to sell Carragher.....he offers nothing but consistent defending...

We don't need to replace him if we sell him IMO. Huntelaar and Elmander was only examples of who we can replace him with.

Four strikers is enough IMO, Torres, Kuyt, Voronin and Babel.

It may seem a bit harch but IMO we don't need him anymore. We have other players that can do his work and offers us more than him.

He is our fifth best striker.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

In his very limited playing time this season, he's been really poor. I don't see how he's going to get any rhythm or form going when he plays so little. He'll be out of the side on Tuesday and probably next week again. He's a good player but Rafa, in my view, hasn't managed him very well of late.

I still think a partnership WITH Torres would be very dangerous and our best pairing, but they've not played together for a second.

The writing's on the wall for him, IMO, and selling him while we'll get a top premium for him might be a good idea.

I don't care what ANYONE says, if he goes in January he will have been a success at LFC. He's proved everyone wrong, time and time again, and he'll do well elsewhere. Good player, but it's no good for either party if he's only gonna be used once a month.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Who is to say the replacement striker would spend time on the bench? lets say they got a foil for Torres who is better the Kuyt/crow then surely they would play as much as the other strikers.

Also we can't say Crouch is happy on the bench either, hence the stalling of contract negotiations and the early season grumblings.
              We come not to play.

Torres was bought as our NO.1 striker.Cisse scored goals and did little else and he was sold. You have to do what is best for the team
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

Crouch need to play week in week out. Some players can make it playing once every two weeks or so, Crouch can't.

                      so what does he offer?
Pace and strength are over rated, even useless, attributes for a forward without the 2 key factors:- goals and assists. Both of which Crouchy Tiger can provide as well as anyone else fighting for the 2nd striker spot. See how well Kuyt does when he's left to rust and given just cameo appearances. The same would apply to any striker.

OK how about style of play, with Crouch in the team you get the lumped long ball (akin to the days of long ball to Heskey who would try to feed Owen) with Kuyt/Crow you get a mixture of long, short, wide, central type plays/balls.

Crouch can provide goals and assist but presently his attitude is one of sulking and not of let me do the business on the pitch.
                        We come not to play.

I think he's lacking confidence. I also think that Rafa sees him as an 'alternative'. By that I mean, playing him as a battering ram in a 'long ball' game, which he obviously isn't the type to flourish under.

As long as we win the league I don't care if certain players aren't happy. The ball is in Crouch's court to prove the doubters wrong.

Agree as long as we win he league!

Then we can part exchange hmi for a real battering ram, one that can flourish with that role.
