Crouch has never been the signing that we have welcomed with open arms and after the criticism from this website amongst others, you can understand why. He has always been static, poor finishing, poor heading, poor strength- pretty much the abilities that deem a Premiership striker at a massive club a mere failure. He might have scored amazing goals in the past and he has decent goals to starts ratio but if he cannot clinically the few chances created at difficult surroundings like Fratton Park or even take part in the build up of attacks then what value is Crouch to the squad? I would think very little.

Well it's a wonder he's ever scored a ****ing goal at all if he's as you describe. 2nd top scorer in last season's CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, LFC top scorer in all comps and England's top scorer for the last year.
Little short of miraculous given that he doesn't move, can't shoot, can't head and is piss weak.

In the Champions League, you are allowed time and space, Crouch is made for that brand of football. They hate balls hoofed up field hence why Crouch would have been better against Porto
LIVERPOOL face a fight to keep Peter Crouch, with Manchester City and Italian giants Juventus both ready to make a move for the England striker in January.
Crouch is considering his future and is stalling on signing a new three-year contract.
He is unhappy at being fourth-choice striker at Liverpool this season behind new signings Fernando Torres and Andriy Voronin, plus Dutchman Dirk Kuyt.
Crouch, 26, is concerned about his place in the England squad as he feels he isn’t starting enough matches.
Already this season, he has dropped to fourth spot in the England striking ranks after the re-emergence of Wigan’s former Liverpool front man Emile Heskey, who was picked ahead of Crouch for the Russia match. Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney are also ahead of him.
City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, who gave Crouch his international debut, wants another striker to replace the injured Valeri Bojinov.
More surprisingly, Juventus, managed by former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri, are also eyeing Crouch’s situation.
But a move to Eastlands has obvious appeal to Macclesfield-born Crouch as he is a City fan.
He is currently valued in the £8 million bracket.
But as he is out of contract at the end of next season, Liverpool may have to take significantly less if they can’t persuade him to sign a new deal.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Crouch has a good touch but he is to slow to get any good use of it and that is a problem.
I know that he can't be match fit and that will also be a problem because he will only start every third, fourth or fifth game and that will be a problem the whole season for him.
Sadly i think Crouch will be gone come January. I for one will miss the big fella.
Harshly treated if you ask me.

7 of our 11 players played poorly today, explaining the result we got. We shouldn't look farer than that, in my opinion. Even Arbeloa who this season epitomized excellence, got skinned by Utaka each time he ran at him. Bad day at the office, end of discussion.

Jardel used to score alot of CL goals and he was just ordinary.Who exactly of note did England play?18 goals in all comps he got and people say he was our best striker before Torres arrived. He is a limited player.
You and Fredo do not know it all.
If people play well consistently they will get praise and visa versa.
He got ahead of himself and forgot LFC gave him the chance to play for England and in the CL.There are so many strikers out there who are better.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
everyone wants to know

I'm tired of defending him against your anti-Crouch agenda, but you don't half talk bollocks. All you've done above is list a couple of woeful excuses.
In case it's escaped your attention, 99% of games in international football are against 'weaker opposition'. You can try and discredit his record, both at Europe's elite club level and in international football, all you like - but it just makes you look desperate and ill-informed.
