    That is really horrible.
    Really?

I can only judge players as players. Im sure many have skeletons in the closet.

        Lets get back on track

A true legend. Hard as nails and took no prisoners. I was talking with a footballer from that era John Wile, West Brom and England. I got him onto the subject of the hardest player of his time, he said without doubt Tommy Smith

He told me story about one West Brom against Liverpool He said they had a young cocky winger playing for them (I cant remember his name) Anyways he went past Tommy and whilst taunting him about his complection, he called him Potted meat. John Wile said I am thinking to myself you daft cunt. Two minutes later Tommy put a 50/50 crunch tackle on him, he said the tackle was fair but just bone crushing and that was the end of his game

I love the story of when Ron “chopper” Harris took out Emlyn Hughes two-footed at Anfield. Seeing Tommy marching over to where he was laying Harris thought “I’m in for it here”, only for Tommy Smith to offer a hand, pick him up off the ground, and say “if you carry on like that I could get to like you”.
