I think CP will surprise a few people with us this season - puts himself about and is a worker.

If he slides into the team as I expect him to he'll do well for us.

Finally we have someone who justifies Lucas' place in the first team

Welcome Christian. Good luck to you. And more to the point, to us.

From the little I've seen of him he seems like a solid player, tough in the challenge. I think he'll be useful in games against rougher sides, we need a bit of bite in our team now that we know Mascherano's definitely going. If he has more ability going forward than Mascher then I look forward to us playing more attacking football this season. We've been far too defensive in most games, certainly last season and the first half of the season prior. A tough tackling DM with an eye for a pass is an improvement upon what we have.

              OptaJoe

48% - Juventus' Serie A win percentage in 2009-10 in the 25 games C Poulsen played, it was only 31% without the Dane. Canny.

Just watch the video of him stamping on jenas's head in a europa league match.

some quotes from Poulsen to various Danish media if interested:

"it is a very special club in both England and the rest of the world. I am incredibly happy that (ed: the transfer) succeeded. I am really excited about getting to started. When Liverpool made an approach I made up my mind instantly that this was a club I wanted to join. It is an exciting club with a lot of traditions, great players and I just have to give everything I can and hope that is enough (ed: to impress)."

"Roy told me it was a priority to get me to the club, and I hope I can live up to confidence he has in me. I'm really look forward to playing with Agger. We have worked well together in the national team and I hope we can take that to Liverpool"

                  on starting this weekend:

"the upcoming days will show how good my form is. I have trained with Juventus during summer up until the move to Liverpool was getting closer, since then I haven't been part of the training. I haven't been involved in any EL matches to prevent me being cup-tied. I hope to play against Arsenal and I will be ready if the manager want's to use me although my match-form could be better."

"I have talked to Momo in Juventus and he says it's something special to play at Anfield. Everybody I have talked to say's it's something special and I am very happy that I get the chance to experience it. I am really looking forward to it, Liverpool is one of the biggest teams in the world"

Lol. To be fair, I would stamp on Jenas' head given the chance too. Jenas is a bottling cunt, he goes in two footed but shies away so protect his front. Deserved it I reckon

I am actually delighted we signed Poulsen. He's as tough as Mascherano in the DM role, but definitely adds a bit more to the attacking side of the game. Not that I have anything against the monster, but with him in the team it always feels like we're playing an inverted sweeper formation. Fine when we're shaking in the center of defence, but with everyone fit it's a bit unnecessary.

A good bit of business too, nabbing an exprienced international midfielder for less than 5M. Take that from the money we get for Mascher and there should be plenty left for another attacking option (wing/forward).
