My sons team has an association with Newell Old Boys and Maxi is some kind of ambassador for the academy there. He was happy to see my son with the Liverpool/Athetico pendant. He played in that game for Athletico before joining us.

We have the pendant signed now so my son wants that framed.

My son is a number 10.

I think he was a good player for us but he never really got the chance to be great. I was looking back at this thread a few days ago and everyone started off saying he was **** and then cursing the Managers for not playing him lol.

I reckon Dalglish didn't play him because he didn't speak English so it was difficult to communicate what he wanted him to do.

Anyway, great for us no, could he have been great? Probably not but everyone certainly grew fond of him and he certainly hasn't ever said or done anything wrong by us even though he might have been a bit miffed about not being given more opportunities with us.

It was an unlucky period for him to join us. Signed by Benitez and then he got Bodgson.
