Fernando Torres 50 Goals for Liverpool - YouTube

Completely agree. He is the only player that I've ever watched where I was celebrating the goal as soon as he went one on one. Every other time I waited for the ball to get past the keeper. I was that certain that he would do it.
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

I agree really. Torres was 'just' a goal machine, a deadly assassin. But he didn't contribute so much other than scoring goals. Suarez is just a constant pest, the creator, the finisher, the talisman. He's magic.

Suarez is incredible and it's easy to forget just how good Torres was. I mean, Torres was ****ing amazing for us in his first season.

There's not much in it really. They're different players; Torres was a goal machine who could also beat a man and lay the ball off, Suarez is much more of a creative team player.

To see them both together would've been

Practically all of his goals were self made, from very little or nothing. He didn't need to bring others into play. He just got on and did it himself. So effortlessly.

He single handedly won us so may games.
He was a deadly finisher at that time. Hopefully, we will not witness that type of finishing again from him

Although they are different types of player. Suarez has already proved he can win games single handedly, by scoring goals and with his assists and IMO he will only get better and better

What a mind-bogglingly amazing pairing they would've been with Torres at his brilliant best.

It was an article that I found on the following site. I actually had to edit it to get it within the signature count. It's worth reading the article for the quote alone as Dixon says it better than my edit does. I really like him because of this:

Was Torres's last goal for us that belter he scored against Blackpool at the near post? Brilliant goal, he looked like he was on the cusp of getting it all back then. just one more goal in the league since? Craziness.

I had a dream I met Andy Carroll in a pub on the Quayside in Newcastle. He said him and Torres "aren't reet in the heed" and because of the money "we just cannit dee it man"

Then he had to be held back because he wanted "fookin bray" someone.

We'd have scored five goals per game.

****ing hell, wow...left foot, right foot, headers, volleys, one-on-ones, 30 yard screamers, tight angles...everything...

                      What a player he was.

Why did he leave us ?

Suarez is a better player than Torres.

Torres had an incredible scoring record...but his overall play was patchy. He looked dire at times but only needed the one chance to score. He also couldn't adapt his game to make others better. He could never play with a partner, it has to be him as the focal, or he's invisible.

Suarez is capable of the sublime, and brings it every game and the crucial component....he makes other better. That pass on the outside of the foot to Downing was incredible and went largely unheralded because he does that **** time and time again. Plus he's not a ****ing pansy like Torres always was.

I wouldn't swap them, even for Nando at his peak.

It's astonishing really isn't it. I know a lot of Reds hate him now, ridicule him even. But he was absolutely ****ing amazing. All in my poll thread in the LFC forum please.

It really was. I'll be surprised if we see a better pass all season. Imagine if Rooney had pulled that ****...

Torres's form at the chavs is shocking. It would appear that he is cursed. Maybe when he left, the whispered about "Curse of Anfield" left with him.
