To be honest I don't feel sorry for him at all. He's spent his last couple of seasons sulking at the club & on the pitch. He only cared about himself. He had the chance to stay and work with Kenny and form a great partnership with Suarez but the lure of money from the rent boys was too great for him. Even his transfer was done on the last day of the window meaning that we had to pay over the odds for Carroll.

I do enjoy his woeful hour long performances for Chelsea though!

He was my favorite player but I don't feel sorry for him one bit.

He instigated the move, he felt the grass is greener on the other side of the fence so as far as I concerned he can **** right off straight into an obscurity.

Don't give a hoot about him any longer.

I was disappointed he was in the stands for Spain the other night. It was always around this time of the season when he picked up an injury playing for them.

I think it's fair enough Spain are a great side and Torres form at the moment isn't up to the standard required It's good to see they are picking their side on form rather than reputation.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No, his woeful run of form since joining Chelsea and his poor goalscoring return has healed all wounds

True, all that helps. But that 50 goals video still makes me

In which case he still wouldn't get picked

But it remained poignant to see Torres fail to make even Spain's bench for the 6-0 win over Liechtenstein. The numbers are catching up with the most expensive player to have been traded in these isles. Torres, who struck 81 times in 142 games for Liverpool, has scored once in 21 appearances for Chelsea. It took him 14 goes to break his duck. In the international sphere he has been usurped by David Villa and Alvaro Negredo, prompting Vicente del Bosque, the Spain coach, to say in midweek: "Those who stand out with their clubs will get the call to the national team, not the other way round."
