hmmmmmm not being a great finisher comment is clearly not true!

Like it or not 102 league games & 65 goals does not happen for someone who's not a great finisher!

It does if he's getting a lot of chances made for him. In a one on one with a keeper, I'd never have put my house on him to bury it, in the way I'd have done with Owen or Fowler.

have to disagree, Owen was hit and miss with one on ones, God mind was ****ing leathal!

Torres was the most feared striker in the world for a period with us, he simply was

Torres was the best striker in world football when he was with us. Rafa made him the player he was. He's finished as a top striker. He will be at malaga within 2 years.

Fowler was in a league of his own, followed by Rushie.

probably right with him going forwards but as you said at one point he was simply amazing.

Fowler was one of the best strikers to play for LFC. The stuff he could do. Not only deadly in front of goal but also very very intelligent.

My fav LFC player off all time.

Torres *was* a ****ing great finisher. One v one with keeper and you knew he'd score and invariably he did.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Luis Aragones said Torres never scored the same goal twice, and to be fair, it wasn't far wrong. I can see what BringBackBiscan is saying; I remember games when he would fluff golden opportunities and then spank one in from 25 yards.

I think if he had time to think were he wanted to put it, he dawdled. However, if he had to make a split-second decision, he'd put it in the back of the net.

Owen regularly opened up his body to slide it past the keeper and if he didn't get the right connection, it just looked like he rolled it to the keeper. As for Fowler, he just put the ball in the inside of the side netting from any angle.

he was the best in the business for a couple of seasons with us, no doubt in my mind about that.

As Leyton388 said, Rafa made Torres the player he "was"

                          Yip.

He was one of the best strikers about though for a few years. I just don't think he was a quality out and out finisher.

He wasn't the best in the world though, not even the best from Spain. David Villa held that mantle when Torres was at his peak.

That goal he scored against Inter at the san siro in the CL or the one agaist blackburn at anfield to me is the best examples of how deady and great Torres was.

Where he mugged Vidic when we did the Manc's 4-1 was perhaps my favourite goal from him, as soon as he'd taken the ball you KNEW it was heading into the back of the net.

Against Newcastle at Anfield for me.

Even Pele screwed a similar chance.[Slight exageration alert]
