If he was available either on loan or at a decent value I'd be happy to see him come back, the past is the past and players come and go and if he came back and did a job for us then I'd be more than happy.

NB - I fully expect him to head back to Athletico with Falcao on the way to Stamford Bridge.
He left because he thought he was too good for this club, I don't want a cunt like that playing for us, add to that the fact that he's clearly finished as a quality striker then there's really no reason to bring him back.

As someone has already said he's part of our history and it should stay like that. Bringing back former players/managers on the basis of sentimentality/nostalgia hasn't worked out too well for us recently, I thought Dalglish's second run as manager would have taught us all a lesson.

no point being romantic about it. some of you lads think its like having one last fling with an ex bird, just for old times sake. bollocks.

if he was any good then he'd be smashing them in for the chavs.
that ship has sailed. move on, boys, but with a tear in your eye

As I mentioned if he came back I'd have no problem with it as our manager would have wanted to bring him in with a clear idea of how to use him, let's face it we've not done brilliantly since he left and if he helped us move back towards the higher end of the league then so be it.

Aye. Tis true I suppose. But it's also possible that he could recapture half his old form, and for the right price, that would be great, for us.

it won't happen but if Rodgers thought he was the right man for the job I'd have no issues with him returning

Or we could spend our money on a striker who is in his prime and gives a **** about football. I think it speaks volumes about Torres that he wanted to leave in the summer of 2010 just after we finished 7th but was told he had to stay so that the club would be more appealing to potential owners.
One poor season and he wants out, only a year after we finished second and after 3 years of telling the fans how much he loves them and the city.

Read the bit about if our manager wanted him back I'd have no problem with it, you clearly would have - irrational really as you'd have no say in the matter but that's your perogative.

it may be possible but do you buy on a possibility or more on what is probable?

All transfers are a risk and you never know who will & won't work out

I don't expect him to come back but it's pretty clear and obvious that I am saying if he did and Rodgers wanted him then I'd have no issue with him returning.

Don't think he'll suit our style of play anyway.

now that's a different arguement and you're probably right.

i have no issue with Torres. he left his boyhood club to come here and he did that to win things. we didnt look like winning things (or important things) so he left. if he left athletico to win things why wouldnt he leave us?

he won a CL mdeal so looks like it wasnt that bad a choice for him either.

the only reason i dont want him back as he is a shadow of his former self. he is not the same player and not worth the wages we would have to pay.

would i want the torres at his peak back - **** yes but thats not what is on offer.
