And to think we thought we had the better end of the deal getting £5m (or thereabouts) and Cole.

Fair enough he's been injured, but he's a far better player.

Let's face it, we're better off and we've all had a good laugh at his expense. Isn't it time most people got over it and moved on? I surprised myself by how I felt but I've said before I think he's a mixed up kid, little boy lost in London, and I don't wish him any ill will other than a lack of silverware.

"Beggars belief" ....why anyone would give a flying **** about how others choose to deal with the situation - now that beggars belief.
You honestly don't know why there's so much bitterness towards Torres from the vast majority of Liverpool fans, seriously?

Even if we weren't bitter, that's one thing but actually being 'happy for him', that's just ****ed up imo. 'lost little boy in London' was he a lost little boy in Liverpool in the summer of 2007 when he first came to England?
He's a 27 year old married man with kids, who earns about £175,000 a week and has agents etc working for him....something tells me he'll be fine.

Mixed up kid, ffs, he wanted to leave Liverpool since the start of the season, hence why he was a sulky, lazy cunt for us in the months leading up to his departure and as soon as it was known Chelsea bid for him, he couldn't jump ship quick enough.

Maybe it is time people got over it and move on as you say, but he was our best player for 3 and a half years, so he's still going to be discussed. You've posted plenty in the Hodgson threads, maybe people should get over that too.eh?

Ruined my ****ing day that did.

Never mind, onwards and upwards for us. Fingers crossed next season he will be looking up at us in the table.

January 26, Liverpool 1 Fulham 0 (Premier League)

With speculation over his future mounting, Torres plays his last 90 minutes for Liverpool and hits the post in the build-up to the winning goal, causing John Pantsil to slice into his own net.

February 6, Chelsea 0 Liverpool 1 (Premier League)

Fate brings Liverpool to Stamford Bridge for Torres' debut following his £50million switch. Torres is taunted by the away supporters throughout and lasts only 66 minutes as his former employers have the last laugh through a goal from Raul Meireles.

February 14, Fulham 0 Chelsea 0 (Premier League)

Starts in place of Didier Drogba but wastes every opportunity to come his way. The Spaniard cannot control a ball from David Luiz when clean through and heads over a cross from Ramires when well positioned. Drogba replaces him with 19 minutes left.

February 22, FC Copenhagen 0 Chelsea 2 (Champions League second round, first leg)

Drogba is again the victim as Torres is paired with Nicolas Anelka in Denmark. The Frenchman overshadows him, scoring twice, but Torres shows some promise by working shooting opportunities, only for his finish to let him down.

March 1, Chelsea 2 Manchester United 1 (Premier League)

Carlo Ancelotti perseveres with Torres for the biggest league match of the season to date, but the striker is again eclipsed by others as Chelsea come from behind. Shows some early promise but is mostly shackled by Nemanja Vidic and Chris Smalling.

March 7, Blackpool 1 Chelsea 3 (Premier League)

Plays 90 minutes but the headlines belong to the old guard of John Terry and Frank Lampard. Is partnered with Drogba, but the two fail to combine effectively.

March 16, Chelsea 0 Copenhagen 0 (Champions League second round, second leg)

With the tie all but won, Ancelotti goes with Drogba and Anelka, with Torres on the bench. Receives some vindication as the pair fail to score, but offers little encouragement when introduced for the Frenchman on 68 minutes.

March 20, Chelsea 2 Manchester City 0 (Premier League; Stamford Bridge)

One of Chelsea's best performances of the season, but Torres is again subdued partnering Kalou up top. Nigel de Jong produces a perfectly-timed tackle to stop him running through, but there is little joy otherwise. Replaced by Drogba on 70 minutes.

March 25, Spain 2 Czech Republic 1 (European Championship qualifier)

Replaces Jesus Navas for the second half in Granada but the plaudits belong to David Villa, who scores twice to eclipse Raul's international scoring record.

April 2, Stoke 1 Chelsea 1 (Premier League)

Starts on the bench at the Britannia Stadium, with Drogba scoring Chelsea's goal. Comes on for Anelka with half an hour left but contributes little apart from a deflected effort as Chelsea drop vital points.

April 6, Chelsea 0 Manchester United 1 (Champions League quarter-final, first leg)

Ancelotti again demonstrates his faith in Torres, but the night belongs to a striker wearing red as Wayne Rooney sets United on course for the semis. Torres cannot direct his shot when given a clear sight of goal late in the first half and is denied by Edwin Van Der Sar in the second.

April 9, Chelsea 1 Wigan 0 (Premier League)

Comes on to a standing ovation after an hour. Elbows Ali Al Habsi in the face in the build-up to Florent Malouda's winner, only for the Wigan goalkeeper to gain his revenge by saving his shot in the dying moments.

April 12, Man Utd 2 Chelsea 1 (Champions League quarter-final, second leg)

Starts the match at Old Trafford with Chelsea 1-0 down from the first leg, but lasts just 45 minutes before being replaced by Drogba, who scores for the visitors but is unable to prevent a 3-2 aggregate defeat.

              April 16, West Brom 1 Chelsea 3

The roles are reversed with Torres coming off the bench to replace Drogba, but with just eight minutes left he is unable to make an impression.

              April 20, Chelsea 3 Birmingham 1

Another substitute's appearance in another 3-1 win, but the same old result after replacing Salomon Kalou.

              April 23, Chelsea 3 West Ham 0

The drought finally ends, funnily enough on a sodden pitch which almost ruins the 84th-minute chance the substitute curls into the corner with his left foot.

Same here. I'm little bit suprised that I feel so indifferent so quickly towards him as he was my favorite player for years...

Form suggests his next goal will be some time at the end of September.
