Because as stupid as they are, they're not stupid enough to know that if he leaves then the club will crumble.

I'd ****ing love it if he walked away and the club folded. Disgusting club.

Booed off the pitch, abused from the first minute by his own fans, subjected to "******" signs as he was subbed - why the **** is he still there? he's bombed, accept it and request a move torres. they will let you go

One small problem though, who is going to pay him £200k a week? Having said that I don't think money will be his primary motive.

I am warming to the idea of him coming back though, unlikely as it seems. His No.9 shirt should also be available. All we need to do is get Carroll back to Newcastle and we can go back to January 30th 2011.

Last night must've been an all time low for him. He's scored a decent amount of goals this season, without ever looking close to what he was, Rafa's there - someone who knows how to get the best out of him........but he looked as poor as ever. No spark, every time the ball was played up to him he either mis-controlled or just couldn't be arsed fighting for the ball. Such an enigma. It looks like he hates playing football.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Chelsea profit is thanks to £18m windfall from shares
                link

It emerged today that an £18.4million boost from shares enabled Chelsea to record a profit for the first time under Roman Abramovich.

The Blues stunned football in November when announcing that they had gone from a £67.7m loss to a £1.4m profit in just a year.

The latest figures covered the 12 months to June 30 with the club putting the turnaround down to their first Champions League success, which earned them £47m, and a £28.8m profit in the transfer market.

However, Chelsea’s accounts, published by Companies House today, revealed that the club received £15m due to cancellation of shares owned by BSkyB. The Blues also banked a further £3.4m thanks to the “write back of accrued preference share dividend associated with these shares”.

Billionaire Abramovich (above) bought Chelsea in 2003 and two years later the club recorded the biggest loss in their history of £140m.

Chelsea’s fourth-round FA Cup tie has been selected for live TV, meaning a windfall for Brentford if they defeat Southend in the replay to set up a west London derby.

Brentford would receive £135,000 TV fee, keep 45 per cent of any gate receipts, potentially £250,000 at a sold-out Griffin Park, and a further £90,000 if they could beat the Premier League side. The other TV games include Tottenham’s trip to Birmingham or Leeds.

So just for arguments sake, if we could go back and undo that deal, Torres to Chavs..AC to LFC, would anyone ?

We own AC as it is so we can sell him whenever, and we made 15mill on the deal, is Torres worth more than those two amounts together ?

Would we be worse off as a club ?

Big gamble to hope he'll suddenly find his form here imo.

Undo, as in 'it never happened'. Yes.

                      Take him back now? No.

I tried to work out the pro's and con's of each scenario you mention above, but they are many, trying to work out which would be more profitable, etc, but it's almost impossible, as there are too many unknowns.

That's a good way of wasting time if ever there was one.

Absolutely, just to see him and Suarez up front would have been amazing.

I think the idea of him being hated by his own 'fans' at Chelsea makes me feel sorry for him more and whilst I wished him nothing but the worst when he moved, my heart is not made of stone believe it or not. He was a Liverpool player who had been loved by the fans as no other Liverpool player had since Kenny.
