I get keeping him for the off pitch side of things, but he’s not good enough when on it, even his ‘steady the ship’ sub appearances this season have been pretty dodgy. He’s just soooo slow now and he’s probably getting in the way of younger MF options. If he wants to keep playing then he should move on, but if he wants to move into coaching we should make space for him.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

On the pitch there is also the homegrown quota to consider, unless we sign some other homegrown players we will struggle to fill 8 places in the squad, those currently involved in first team squad who qualify as Homegrown next season are:Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI get keeping him for the off pitch side of things, but he’s not good enough when on it, even his ‘steady the ship’ sub appearances this season have been pretty dodgy. Kelleher, TAA, Gomez, Milner, Henderson, Ox and Jones
Players on the fringes or on loan
Phillips, Rhys Williams, Neco Williams, Davies, Woodburn, Ojo
Elliott is under 21 so doesn't need to be included.
If we want to make the 8 and hence a full 25 man squad we would need to keep the existing 7 and add one from the fringes list or sign someone else. Up until now the likes of Jones, and both Williams have been on the youth list but from next season if they are to play they will need to be in the main squad which has implications for them or other players in the squad. I don't see many of the fringes players being worth a spot in the 25 man squad I suspect Milner even at his age is considered a better option than most. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We've won EVERY single one of them though. Admittedly a lot of them were 90 min time wasting subs, but he's surely doing his job if we're seeing it through.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI get keeping him for the off pitch side of things, but he’s not good enough when on it, even his ‘steady the ship’ sub appearances this season have been pretty dodgy. The only match he's come off the bench and we haven't won was Leicester and we were already trailing by that stage , unlike 6 days before we he came on against the same opposition and helped us overturn a 3-1 deficit. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

But it's an odd criticism saying he's dodgy seeing games out when he's successfully seen every game out.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostOf course we have, we’re great and have a +41 goal difference. But it’s not really the measure of one sub’s current abilities. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It’s not, having watched him play. When he’s come on, he hasn’t been very good, even if not so bad that he costs us points. I fail to see how that’s an odd criticism tbh. He’s struggled this year imo, and another year isn’t going to help, it can only make it worse.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I want him at the club forever.Liverpool vice-captain James Milner paid a moving tribute to Mr Devine in 2019 when the club won the Champions League.
As the open-top bus came to the end of its victory parade through the city, the midfielder requested that it stop outside Mr Devine's home, the Liverpool Echo reported at the time.
Mr Devine was outside and able to watch as Milner leaned over the side of the bus to show him the trophy.
