In my defence I am a white, Australian male on the wrong side of fifty, so my 'outdated' sense of humour & apparent ignorance should come as no surprise. I am only conforming to popularly held stereotype after all. Misogynistic, racist & homophobic attitudes (among others) come with the territory.

Which sets me to wondering, when you’re down the pub discussing gender politics with your mates, are you one of those blokes that prefaces his comments with the phrase “Speaking as a feminist…..”?
