    Xherdan Shaqiri [Schalke]

And Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Manchester City are all after Basel midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, but will have to fight off opposition from Milan, Juventus and Bundesliga propper-uppers Hamburg for the £7m Swiss international whom you may remember as the scorer of a long-range left-footed screamer in his country's 3-1 defeat at the hands of England during the Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Remember seeing him play in the U21 Championships and he looked the business. Would be pretty happy if we got him. Can't see it though.

One of the best players on that tournament. Good potential but I'm not sure he's ready for the club of our magnitude just yet.

The problem is as usual that if you wait and he sign for a club like Hamburg and he is a success then his price will be £20m+ instead of £7m.

Depends how much money we can spend. If we can spend a lot then it is better to wait.

I don't think he looks that good at all tbh. Keeps shooting from ridiculous places, seems to have an attitude about him that his talent just doesn't back up.

Could become a good player but he's got a long way to go.
