Originally posted by Hannibal View PostDortmund has been losing their best players for a while now and it's finally caught up to them. Nuri Sahin leaves in 2011, Kagawa leave in 2012, Gotze in 2013 and Lewandowski in 2014. That would be us losing Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling and Suarez in successive season. Then you throw in season ending injuries to Subotic and Gundogan.
We lose 1 player and completely **** the ****ing bed.

We didn't win anything last season!! Success is not coming second although he did better than i expected last season, however he hasn't rectified the deficiencies that were the cause of our lack of success and we have got worse and worse. If we lose to Arsenal and we probably will, we are in a relegation fight. If you don't think we are bad enough for that scenario, think back to Palace and QPR games. We are ****ing dreadful

I think it should be a stipulation to get in a defensive coach if he is let to stay. He must either find a free signing of a striker or sell to buy. He has been trying to change things. We did create more chances today & looked to press more/better. If he gets in strikers that can score the 2nd half of the season may turn out ok. Sack him if he fails to finish in top 4.
It's harsh this, as there are now mire than 4 teams that are able to finish within the top 4! Can't always keep sacking managers who fail to accomplish this.
Whats most annoying is our lack of playing style. Last season was evident in what we were doing. He needs to be able to offer this no matter what players he has at his disposal so injuries & departures don't hinder the style.

Look obviously the results haven't been there a manager is always going to be ultimately judged on those. But the performances!!! Literally one good performances all season long. That is completely unacceptable. If we were losing games and playing well you might say, ok there's something there we're not getting the rub of the green.. but we're literally serving up the same **** every week.

That was success last season. Saying it's not is saying keeping a promoted team in the league alone is a failure. We achieved far more than that what was expected.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostWe didn't win anything last season!! Not so true today, we were much improved. But obviously losing 3-0 to your rivals, however unlucky, isn't good enough. Especially when he's already had a disastrous campaign.Originally posted by danperkins View PostLook obviously the results haven't been there a manager is always going to be ultimately judged on those. Trying really hard to stay backing Rodgers, liked the set up/idea of the team and we were much improved but there's a couple of huge issues for me -
Skrtel plays every single week when he's shocking
Lovren recalled when he's struggling
Toure only sub after recovering from injury
NO SAKHO in the squad, fit again and worst defensive record this season yet he still isn't given a chance.
Yet again no Can, brilliant vs Madrid and Chelsea. Not seen since.
Really struggling to retain faith in Rodgers for those reasons listed above. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Even accepting that the score flattered them, it's another to suggest that Brendan's plan to pick a bat**** side with no striker nearly worked. It made the job harder if anything. The decision to bring in Jones was just stupid and it didn't help us. Lovren was a disaster and although we had some good movement and play in midfield we had nobody to finish anything. Yes, weren't that bad and didn't deserve to lose 3-0, but no way did Brendan 'nearly pull it off'.Originally posted by Muddled View PostDepends if you can look at the performance dispassionately.

Sakho wasn't fit enough to start in a big game, Toure wasn't neither. One had to go on the bench, and Toure had to come on. Not a big issue for me.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostTrying really hard to stay backing Rodgers, liked the set up/idea of the team and we were much improved but there's a couple of huge issues for me -

Can wasn't brilliant v Chelsea or Madrid, but he did well enough to start ahead of Allen.Forwards.......

If anything the bit where he brought a striker on made us look worse. Balotelli wasn't fit enough and is seemingly lazy anyway, we definitely stopped pressing effectively when Mario came on. Still created bucket loads mind.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostEven accepting that the score flattered them, it's another to suggest that Brendan's plan to pick a bat**** side with no striker nearly worked.
