Enjoy it while it lasts I say

Thing is though that all of a sudden, some folk who were prepared for Brendan to build nice and slowly can see us top of the table and will think that this is time to capitalise. FWIW, I think we'll be top after next weekend too and if we can be top going in to October then

I'm ecstatic about our start to be honest, winning games when you're not at your best is the sign of a good side - Mancs and Chelsea to a lesser extent have done it so many times over the years.

I'm being realistic long term and hope that we can get into the top 4 which in itself is still going to be a bloody tough job but we've started brilliantly and are top of the table, as you said enjoy it !

I'm not complaining. I'm worried, that is a big difference.

We should always try to get better and that means that you need to look at what isn't working and fix it.

Our second half is a big problem and need to be fixed. If Rodgers is an excellent manager then he will fix that problem. It may take a month or two to fix it but I'm very confident that he will fix it.

I'm not complaining - it's an excellent start. However being 2-1 up against Swansea with 30 mins to go - it was annoying not to hold on and go 3 points clear at the top. They were there for the taking.

Swansea could easily say that we were there for the taking in that second half. No complaints for me about the draw, could easily have been our first defeat.

You have to look at what happened in the game though, we lost Coutinho which was massive and they took control through our lack of being able to dictate the game as we'd done in the first half.

3 wins and a draw from the opening 4 games is a very good return and whilst it's a bit annoying we didn't hold on we still picked up a point. Need to move on and focus on the next game now.

We played in the same way(second half) against Villa, Man U and the last 30 minutes against Stoke with Coutinho on the pitch.

Almost everything points to that it is Rodgers that want us to play that way. He even admitted it after a game.

Do you think we have the players to play that way? Do you think we get the best out of Gerrard, Coutinho, Sturridge and Aspas playing that way?

                      1. Yes and we won those games.

                      2. Clearly Brendan is doing something right seeing as how we're top of the league and all.

Have you considered that our style of play this season so far has something to do with the fact that we're waiting for the 3rd best player on the planet to return to our squad ?

I'm kindof with Arn on this one. It's amazing that we're top of the league, but we need to improve our ball retention or we won't be staying there. We've got a load of technically proficient players in our team, and we seems to go through long spells where nothing sticks in midfield or attack.

dan kennet the stats guy said after 2 games that he thinks the 2nd half drop offs in performance levels are down to fitness. To be honest I thought he was mad but we've seen the same pattern in all league games and its odd.

either we're looking to play deep and hit teams on the counter or we're shagged. If its the first i understand to some extent but its still a dangerous game. If its the second then something needs looking at.

buy we're still top and we cant complain too much. much better start than last season.

yeah it does kindof make sense, as we seem to go hell for leather straight out the blocks until we get the first goal and then we take our foot off the gas. I'd just like to see us coping with pressure a bit better. You know, with the team we have we should be able to make it extremely hard for teams to win the ball back off us. On Monday we were struggling to string 2 - 3 passes together for the last 45 mins.
