Too old for the PL certainly.Originally posted by Alex View PostTo old and **** apparently....
Did he ever get 5 goals in 5 games for us? There's certainly no reason to think that he would do that for us now.
That said, it was a big shame he left, just like when Sami left, and others of their standing.Oh I don't know.

Dirk.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Would be much better than Downing in the forward 3, deep in a 442 clearly didn't suit Dirk. The movement and work rate of a front 3 of Suarez, Kuyt and Borini would have been excellent IMO.Originally posted by dom9 View PostToo old for the PL certainly.

TBF, I checked the matches before and after his United hat-trick first.Originally posted by dom9 View PostMy memory isn't what it once was. I used to remember every goal and result every season. He'd obviously be a better bet than Downing but Kuyt's time had come at LFC.
I'm made up for him that he's started his Turkish adventure in such a rich form of goals but I suspect that has something to do with the standard of the league and opposition.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

He had a release clause and fehnerbache triggered it. If LFC wanted to keep him they would have not been able tooOriginally posted by Alex View PostIm just bitter he left too be honest. I don't think he was too old for what its worth. Just really slow.My kebab comes with chilli sauce

It was by mutual consent.Originally posted by Alex View PostDirk didn't have to leave. He was obviously told he could go. No player leaves unless they want to. Otherwise Joe Cole would have been long gone.
He wanted to play the regular football and we wanted to offload some of his wages, which we saw as an issue for a player that would have been used very infrequently this year.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I think he could have been very useful. That said if the manager didn't think he could offer him fairly regular game time then it was best for all concerned that he left.Originally posted by Mostar View PostIt was by mutual consent.

Still think he was underused last season (as was Maxi)."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
