He's been a joy to watch these last few games. I didn't see the point in keeping him in midfield, wanted him in the front 3,but with the energy of Hendo and the discipline of Lucas he's allowed to do what he does best and he's been great at it.

Definitely a possibility.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostHmmm, apparently he has already played 50% more than last season, in the league at least, maybe he is getting his form back, to some degree at least.
I've questioned (with many others it would seem) Gerrard's place in the team this season, but he's done well in the last couple of games and last night was one of the best performances I've seen him put in for quite some time.

I think his improved effectiveness has a lot to do with an improved balance to the side. Downing and Henderson's form and the return of Lucas has given him the ideal surroundings. I think the same factors have been playing a part in Henderson improving too - he now has a role that suits him."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

It wasn't just him though, was it? Indeed it wasn't even mainly him I thought..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Close him down and you'll stop him completely.
Fulham, QPR and Sunderland gave him the freedom of the pitch and all paid the price.
Stoke closed down and he struggled.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostIt wasn't just him though, was it? Indeed it wasn't even mainly him I thought.
Stoke just got the better of us and as a team we don't respond well when pressed well, harsh to single out Gerrard IMO, even though I've been critical of him.
