The question is as we were sold for a fairly cheep price why were they not bidding for us?

I wasn't questioning the existence of oligarchs or shiehks. Nor am I questioning that some are interested in purchasing a football club. The thing is none seemed interested in us.

Broughton, tbf, did a magnificent job in getting rid of G&H. I can't be arsed questioning his motives, its all bull really. But in an ideal world FSG sell us to a Sheikh Mansour.

Hicks was right thou IMO. You only have to look at the clubs that have recently been sold to Arabs since FSG took over us.
PSG, Malaga, Getafe, Notts Forest. And the whole we Dodged a bullet from DIC. I disagree. Shiekh Makhtoum?? Is still a billiobaire and if one Arab Billionaire is in trouble his bothers, cousins usually bail them out. He would have just been passed on to Shiekh Mansours brothers cousin etc. Just look at how they bailed out Dubai. The problem was H+G no one wanted to pay them a single dime inflated profit.

i wonder why they didnt help when DIC couldnt pay the debt on holiday inn (or whichever hotel chain it was they owned)

the reality is that even at that knockdown price there was not a queue round the corner. there was a small number of bidders in the end.

another thing to look at. What costs more get a team into the top 4 in the PL or in France?
