The Sakho situation is bizarre, he's clearly the best CB at the club but it sort of feels as if we're trying to force him out which makes no sense at all.

Yep. Wasn't a signing driven by Brendan and he just doesn't seem to rate him or want him in the team.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostI think it's as simple as that Brendan doesn't like him, either on a personal or a professional level.
I must admit though Id rather he just be left out than us being fed the "he's just had a baby" bull****.
And the bull**** excuse is irritating. It's not just Brendan, they're all at it. The bare-faced BS in football really gets on my tits. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Because we quite clearly havent been "****e". Not great or anything but not close to ****e either.Originally posted by Yozza View Post****ing hell & that's coming from you!
How is it bollocks, Dear Sir?
But hey, if we are that good that we can win to nil at Stoke when "playing ****e" I'll take that, we must be some side!

I think this is it, Gomez has surprised Rodgers to the point that he is seen as viable cover with Kolo but the problem is Gomez can't play all the league games at left back and then play all the cup games at centre half if we really are doing the two separate teams approach.Originally posted by calvoboy View PostIf Brendan really doesn't rate him and isn't going to pick him then ordinarily I might see some merit in accepting a bid close to what we paid for him. But the problem is there's no one available who I'd want to sign to replace him. Who's out there who's any better?
Unless the thinking is that Gomez is really a CB, and has already shown signs that he's capable of the step-up, so we're thinking of him moving across with Moreno back in at LB? But then we'd need a left-back...
People often wonder how we always seem to have to buy squad players to bulk the squad up and this is why, whenever we have good players who aren't first choice the solution is always to sell them rather than keep them as back up an let them fight for their place.

I'm not sure what the reasoning behind it is but its hard to make a reasoned case for leaving him out imoOriginally posted by Muddled View PostI wonder if it's as simple as Sakho's injury record? He's missed 43 games with us through injury and Rodgers is keen to have a settled back five? The only other thing I can guess is that Rodgers is still miffed at him walking out when we played Everton.
You pick your best players / pairing and I've seen absolutely nothing to suggest that Lovren is better than Sakho or part of a better pairing eitherBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

It's definitely a factor. He said as much in pre Bournemouth PC that he needs players who can play consistently in his back 5.

I'm afraid Chris is right Yozza (with all due respects). Your post pretty much fell in line with exactly what I said in my post.Originally posted by Yozza View Post****ing hell & that's coming from you!

I'm no saint, I've been terrible with Rafa for example, and that's why I'm including myself. One tit for another.
