Maybe it is the standard rule to ban a player after a failed drugs test, if so there is nothing to sue against.
That seems a reasonable rule, but to fail a drugs test you have to be found to have some substance in your body that is on the UEFA/football banned list, if you are found to have some substance in your body that isn't on the banned list then you haven't failed a drugs test.

The reports are suggesting that the substance present in Sakho's sample wasn't on the banned list which means he shouldn't have failed a drugs so UEFA had no cause to take action. Obviously the reports may not be accurate but looking at it as reported (which is all we can do at this stage) it doesn't seem to show UEFA in the best light.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Because he did fail the drugs test for taking a substance that was on the banned substance list. If Sakho has been provisionally banned for a substance that is not on the banned substance list, he has not failed a drugs test. This ban is incorrect

          Statement from Uefa

The 30-day provisional suspension ends today. The chairman of the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body decided not to extend it. The player would thus be free to play as from tomorrow. A decision on the case will be made within the next few days.

I'm reading conflicting reports about what happens next, the Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/football...her-doping-ban / L'Equipe are saying that he will be cleared of any wrongdoing in the coming days, while the Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/...-at-euro-2016/ are reporting UEFA are investigating whether the pills do contain banned substances and if they find that they do then they could ban Sakho. Which to me seems crazy - if after 30 days they haven't been able to determine whether the substances in the drugs are on their own banned list or not how can they expect anyone else to?

Shame he missed out on the EL final if true. But on the other hand also brilliant news for Mama, the club and the fans.

I've seen them too, and now have no freaking idea. It feels like UEFA are making it up as they go along.

as if the governing body of european football would be that fickle, and any suggestion that they may be open to corruption and/or sweetener, bribe, inducement of drugs or sexually deviant pleasures is totally without justification.

"Sakho's case remains on file while UEFA investigate whether 'fat-burning' substance should even be on banned list. File under 'Pending'"
Surely even if they do decide they should be on the list they were NOT when he took them. As such, and I am no lawyer, he should still be not guilty.

                                Or is that too simple?
