You are bound by the rules as they were at the time not any changes that are made subsequently. I don't know how the banned substances list is defined. If there is a rule about categories of substances then that may complicate things, but the boundaries of this class of substance needs to be clear to everyone, so that they know which substances are included and which are not. If it has taken UEFA the best part of 30 days to investigate whether this substance is banned or not and they still aren't able to decide it seems that the system which they developed (or more likely adapted from elsewhere) isn't fit for purpose.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View Postwhy not? They might have a general prohibition against beta 2 agonists. There may just be dubiety over whether this drug is one of those. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He either failed a drugs test or he didn't.
Maybe what he took gives a similar test result as something that is on the list leading to a false positive test result?
Regardless though, if what he took is not on the banned list then that is on UEFA, and it puts us in the position to have our player for pre season and the start of the new season.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

But not to have him available for our most important game of the 2015/16 season. Could we sue?Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View Post...if what he took is not on the banned list then that is on UEFA, and it puts us in the position to have our player for pre season and the start of the new season.

Sakho is also in line to miss out on he Euros in his home country, once in a lifetime experience. Will be interesting to see how they'll approach this without leaving themselves vulnerable to a couple of lawsuits.Originally posted by Paul12 View PostBut not to have him available for our most important game of the 2015/16 season. Could we sue?* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
