I thought he was getting the boot because he was 2 million quid a year?

The Warehouse is co-owned by Stevie G. I hope they got a discount!!!

Never realised he did stuff for Sky initially. Should imagine they must be a bit disappointed he moved to the beeb in hindsight.

Just got up after a(nother ) heavy night & caught the end of it. Will be watching it on catch up at some point, the bits I saw were really good.
                      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

says he wants to do us in the champions league

The viewing public have not got rid of me forever because I will dip in and out of television in the future, but I will not be under contract again to become a permanent pundit on another show.
'There is an appeal to covering certain Liverpool games, perhaps in the Champions League, but I am now happy to take a step back and see what the future brings for the first time since I started out at Partick Thistle more than 40 years ago.'

Interesting and enjoyable program. He is an absolute legend in my eyes, being a child of the late 80s when he was the captain of that all-conquering team he will always be one of my favourite players. I do remember his early days at Sky and can barely believe that was some 23 years ago. I must say I do find it curious that he has decided to quit punditry just when they moved the program from London to Manchester and so must have surely made it much easier for him to commute to and from there (I think he still lives around Liverpool). I sense that there was an element of being pushed as well as jumping to a degree.

Watching the clips of him playing, I realise what a phenomenal passer he was. Some of those passes would make Gerrard proud.

Astonishing skill and really the opposite of the arrogance he can sometimes put across when talking. Though it's funny how when he interrupts other pundits they tend to stop and listen.
