Last couple of games his linkup play seemed to me like it was close to last season’s. Two assists against Bournemouth and kept the ball well against Napoli. Just needs a few more goals and the talk of his form will disappear.

I think when he plays in the deeper role our goal expectations of him should reflect the position he starts games in rather than how he did in a more advanced attacking role last season.


Personally I prefer him further forward with licence to roam and drop deep, but he is still having an impact, albeit in a different manner, from the deeper role.

Is it too early to be worried by Bobby’s poor form? Hasn’t seemed at the races for a while now and I can’t see why that should be (shouldn’t be knackered, isn’t isolated, etc). Baffled.

The Liverpool boss claims that he had twenty German coaches at the recent home game against Fulham and he revealed what they had to say after the game about Firmino.

“In the last home game against Fulham, I had 20 German coaches in the stadium," said Klopp, according to Liverpool's official website. "Most of them were friends of mine, and I know them all.

“They watched the game. I’m not sure what the critics were saying about Bobby Firmino after the game, but when I saw the coaches later and we had drinks together, they were like ‘Bobby Firmino... what a player!’

“It’s because of the small things he is doing, he is working hard, he is here, he is there, he has five goals now and he opens 5,000 gaps for everybody. It’s about how you see it.”

Klopp is obviously going to back his players, especially when he changed the role in which Bobby plays. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that Bobby has played way below what we have seen previous.

He's a brilliant player that imo has had a bit of trouble adapting to a change in role, all of the front 3 have had to adjust. His touch and final ball have been off, nobody will ever question his work rate but I think we all know he's a lot better than he has shown this season.

Klopp is well known for backing his players under fire, so no surprise with him backing Bobby. Not that Bobby is under fire but I'm hoping we see the best of him soon as he's a huge player for us.

I've got those bumps below the knee. Mine are from Osgood–Schlatter disease. It's an inflammation on the tendon below the knee. Hurts like a mother****er and even after it heals you're left with this permanent extra bone growth that causes them bumps.
