I think over much of the last 30 years we have had a number of managers who have bought good players but haven't known what to do with them, often buying no 10 type players and trying to play them out wide.Originally posted by Rich View PostDon't want to dig up the past. But WTF was Brendan thinking - sticking him out wide right.
It sounds simple but I think a big part of Klopp's success is due to having a system and bringing in players who suit that system, rather than buying good players and trying to figure out what to do with themThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Jari Litmanen springs to mind as another good example of this. Yip he was my first thought too....
Not sure on the others though. I think we bought loads of players that turned out to be a little bit **** throughout the years.........some who we had big hopes for. I thought Kewell would be amazing for us when he signed. The end of the Houllier years were criminal for that (anelka and Duff would have been great additions...... All for the cost of diouf, diao, and cheyrou!)
