Those grapes you are eating must be a sour as ****

Put yourself in his boots. He has a limited career span, he’s has won all the major competitions as a footballer. He has been offered a golden contract towards the end of his term as a top top player. Tell me you wouldn’t do the same

It’s not even like the MLS where lifestyle is a consideration. It’s not what is ‘acceptable’, it’s a judgement made about his decision, which people are free to make.

Sporting integrity aside Bobby and the other high profile players who've gone out there have also to make peace being pawns in a global sports washing exercise overseen by a despotic regime.

A regime with an utterly appalling human rights record.

I get the moralistic perspective but if I was offered 5x my salary to work in Saudi for 3 years but far less stress or pressure then I’m in……. Those of you who are above that then fair play to you

Don’t tell me the corporate world has any less dirtiness associated with their money - I worked for Maersk for 5 years and it was the only time where I knew the company’s moral compass was faultless
And this is where the Saudi's and the like are succeeding

Throw in the fact that Bobby has been vocal about Christian values, women's rights and so on, and he then takes off to a country where women do not have proper rights.

Is just a money grab by any player that goes there and a blind eye being turned to horrific breaches of human rights.

Same goes for the likes of Gerrard and Fowler going there and then doing interviews playing on their Liverpool FC time on Saudi tv so the Liverpool name gets used to legitimise the sports/image wash.

They want to go there, that is their choice, but when they next start chatting **** about wanting to do good things and acting like they care about various causes it is going to stink of utter hypocrisy.

It is not as though any of them would not be able to earn what would still be big wages in the UK, Spain, Germany etc and live in countries that do not come with some of the worst human rights records on the planet.

A lot of us were quick (and right imo) to slag Gary Neville and Carragher off for their fawning over regime money and in the case of Neville rushing to be on their payroll in Qatar (as did Gerrard in Qatar), so the likes of Gerrard, Fowler and Firmino are just as open to the same criticism.

Fine if they go chasing the money, but any talk in the future about morality, human rights, basic kindness towards others and so on that comes from their mouths is just bull**** as they are doing their part in helping aid the regimes that are using sports to image wash.

Yep they are very successfully pushing the false narrative that they are no worse than the rest, and every one else is doing the same as them.

Well we could start our list by not going to laughing stock clown league, in a country that is a human rights cesspit, where your civil liberties and political rights can go and get ****ed. You agree you go there and accept the coin, you are complicit in the countries blatant attempt to sports wash their appalling human rights record.

He is 31, already a multi millionaire ten times over, his kids will want for nothing, he is still in his prime years. If he had any interest in football whatsoever in football, he would have had accepted I'm sure one of the many offers to play in any of the top leagues. So, I wonder why he choose the beautiful country of Saudi Arabia? The weather? The Culture? Wannabe Muslim? Wait, I've got it, it was probably on his missus bucket list, as women are so welcome over there. The answer is lots and lots of money, pure and simple. It doesn't matter is he is a LFC hero or legend, same as Gerrard.

Lets just say it, they are full of **** & are greedy cunts.

Yup, well put to be fair.

Let's face though, when footballers come out with stuff on morality and human rights 99% of the time its sheer fake platitudes. These fellas, especially the top ones, have been in football since eight, they then sniff the vast money they can get in their early teens, and by their mid twenties they are made men for life.

We can hardly be shocked when they sell their soul for one last pay cheque.

I just had a look at the top scorers page on the BBC (it's still showing last season's stats), and Firmino only scored 11 league goals but with an 81% shot accuracy!

11 goals in 25 games. A reasonable amount from the bench.

Give the ball to Bobby & he will score!

Or at the very least test the keeper.
